Equifax says report is not frozen Chase says it is frozen

Applied for Chase business card. Online pop up said it will be under review. So I called 2 days later only to learn that equifax is frozen

Called Equifax to lift the freeze which they did. Called back Chase they told me to wait 1 hour before it becomes accessible.

Called back in 1 hour still frozen.

This happened last week. Until then I probablly called Chase and Equifax close to 10 times with no avail. Equifax credit feeze was lifted 7 days ago and Chase is still telling me it is frozen.

Today, the Csr in Equifax told me Chase accessed the report on 16, 19 and 21st of December. I asked the lady if this was an attempt or did it really went thru?

She said it is recorded in my file so it went thru. There are 3 hard inquiries by Chase in the last week. Yet Chase denies the access.

I am tired and I don't know what to do. When I check myequifax online, it says not frozen. It should be accessible but Chase says otherwise.

What am I supposed to do now?

Probably call Chase during business hours and ask to speak to one of their credit bureau specialists.

At least see if they can remove the extra inquiries or use one of them for your application

Pull your annualcreditreport.com and see if the 3 pulls were indeed coded as hard pull instead of soft pull. Once you have that, call Chase and read off what you see. Chase should not hp the same cb for the same credit app.

As far as Equifax, have you ever placed a lock (not a freeze) on your cr? If so, call them back to make sure you not only do not have a freeze in place but that you do not have a lock in place.

Could you have a split file? I'd do some research here on that as well.

It's just weird for Chase to say you have a freeze and no to pulling your report, and then have Eq saying you do not have a freeze and Chase pulled your report (with dates) 3 times.

Check Annualcreditreport and research and investigate Split Files. That's all I can think of to do first in order to clear up some of this confusion. Good Luck, like a lot of it....it is Eq.

Make sure you don't have a fraud alert on your file as well. There's a remote chance that there's a fraud alert without contact information. That will result in a hard pull but the creditor won't be able to access the report. In any event, pull your credit as suggested to see if you incurred a hard pull and also call Chase.

I had this problem with TransUnion, I had to add and remove a freeze.
