Congrats on your first biz card, that's awesome! I recently picked up the BBC as my first biz card and my experience with it has been great so far! The SL may be in part due to the velocity of applying for two AMEX cards within 2 months. Not that it was a bad thing to do, they are probably just being cautious. Any other DPs to share for others looking to apply for AMEX biz cards? There aren't nearly as many data points out there for business cards, so anything you've got could potentially be helpful for others thinking about pulling the trigger. Maybe EX FICO 8 as shown on the AMEX site when you view it through your Delta or Gold card, number of inqs, how many new accounts over the past 6, and 12 months, business income you stated on your card app (if you're comfortable sharing that sort of thing-no biggie,) any negatives on your profile, and any other relevant info you could think of?

Lousy $2k SL, but for my first business card, I suppose I shouldn't complain. Just sucks one day after a Discover $10k SL. Time to garden...

Regarding the BBP, one of the best things about that particular card is that it adjusts to your spending. In other words, it's flexible (within reason) with your use. So, even though the credit limit is $2,000, Amex will allow you to spend higher but will monitor your use/spend/payments (they do) but not overtly or aggressively.

If you need to make a particularly large purchase, call to let them know for approx how much. After 95 days, request a 3x increase and this will most likely be granted. The most important thing is to not carry a month to month balance on the card, even if you have a 0% intro offer for 12 months.

(My expenses are generally advertising and shipping which are daily in the $100-400+ range) I should easily push $8-12k through this card a month. Thinking I'm going to get the Business Gold (Using my personal Gold right now for this reason) soon for the 4x since I'm generally paying two entities, that should work great for me with the BBP covering the rest.

Regarding carrying a ballance - I never do, on any of my cards. Honestly, that's probably the best advice anyone can give regarding credit cards. When I talk to my kids or friends, I always refer to credit cards like a loan. Too many think of credit like the bank is GIVING you money. "I got a $5k card!". No, you got the OPTION to BORROW up to $5k with fees if you take longer than 30 days to pay it back. Changing your/their thinking helps a lot.

I suppose it hasn't been that long, but my monthly spend is generally in the $8-12k range (depending how much I put on my Amex vs other cards) spend was all on my Delta before getting my Gold. So I've been consistantly in that range for a good 6 months or so. I have left my Delta basically linger since getting my Gold, not sure that would matter, but there's that.

- First Biz card

- AAoA is low, most cards are in the 1-3 year range

- Applied for Discover Miles one day previous (Approved for $10k SL)

- Last derog was removed on the first, if Amex keeps a record, they definitely know about it

- EX reports "Credit Seeking" with about 5 or 6 HP in the last 2yr

- FICO 8 is now 743

- Zero balance (or in the $5-500 range between all cards), no negatives, no lates, clean profile on EX and TU, few months before EQ is clean. I rarely carry a balance unless I forget or charge something and it doesn't clear before statement cuts.

- Anything else, feel free to ask

Thanks for the kudos. Anyone have some datapoints for BBP CLIs? I'll likely be pushing $8-12+k through this card a month without carring a balance. Have been using my gold card, going to use that for personal expenses from here on out. I'll keep you updated should I get a decent CLI (or a crappy one - either way).

personal guarantor as well? Or was it just your Duns or TIN Numbers?

I'm pretty much exactly like you. Got my personal Gold in March and BBP in June. Just last week (less than 61 days after account opening) I requested 3x CLI from 2k to 6k. I got theb7 to 10 days. I got an email saying they made a decision and of course the website to check that never works. I called them a few days later and they stated it was approved pending sending 3 business bank statements. I sent them 3 personal bank statements from TD. The day after requesting the CLI, I was approved for the Blue Business Cash for 9k.
