Amex business card apps questions

Are AMEX business card applications similar to the their personal card applications, in that they only hard pull if you're approved and accept their offer? Trying to finish out the AMEX trifecta.

Yes, and already being in with Amex means there's a strong likelihood of getting a SP approval.

As stated above there is a high likelihood ( not guaranteed ) that you'd be approved with only a SP. YMMV.

I appreciate the reply. Last question: is it worth having my credit files locked when I apply? Will that further increase the likelihood of a SP during the app?

If you already have an American Express, they almost never do a hard pull for subsequent card applications. Even if you are approved.

Makes no difference whether it's personal or business.

That would be terrible. Definitely do not have your files locked when you apply.

I can't recommend to do it, or not but will say if there's a problem, they'll let you know

I've had several products with them and the only HPs I had was my first CC, of course YEMV.

Ended up pulling the trigger on applying for a my first Amex business card. I was approved for $25000 with a SP credit check.

Needed a catch all card for my uncategorized spend.

Congratulations on your approval. Well if you're looking for travel points, that's as good a card as you will find for uncategorized spend.

Amex only did a soft pull, as I have platinum and Bonvoy brilliant card already. I applied using one of my LLCs, and not a sole prop.
