Amex Business Gold 100k Approved

I needed Membership Rewards (don't we all?) and since I got a mailer with the 100k welcome offer for $10k spend in 3 months (and the lower $295 AF as long as I applied by the end of the month), I decided it was time to finally go ahead and grab this one. Given that it's a charge card, I wasn't doubting for a second that Amex would approve me for it, but I did have to do it logged out of my account since I was showing the 70k offer so there was no "You're Already Approved" message waiting for me at the signup link.

I can definitely make use of the $20/mo credits at Grubhub or Staples, so the first $240 is covered already and with the way I've been redeeming for flights lately, I should get a few thousand bucks of value from the Membership Rewards easily so I can justify keeping it for a while even with the higher AF next year. I suppose after the Welcome Offer spend is done, I'll just bill Verizon FIOS (because for some reason it always codes here as wireless) to it and add it to Apple Pay for gas purchases as my two 4X categories monthly.

Stats: It's a charge card. Member Since 2002 with a positive Amex relationship and I have a pulse? Seriously though, 797 Experian FICO 8, 5/24 (2/24 next month), couple of Experian inquires, no baddies ever, fairly sizable combined chunk of spend with Amex annually.

Like Pokemon, apparently I need to collect them all. At least all of my Amex personal cards now have a matching business companion.

10 active and open primary cards, and AU on one personal (EDP) and one business account (Platinum). 2 of them don't even have annual fees! 😂 This is the 11th Amex account I have opened as I did close my personal Delta Platinum in 2022 (the one in my signature was my personal Delta Reserve that I downgraded to Blue due to the announced changes with Delta's FF program a couple of months ago but then upgraded to Platinum just days later).

Well done! I got the 110k offer last year but hadn't seen triple digits since. Since they added the GrubHub credit to 4x dining, it's been great, especially since I gave up personal Gold for a one-year Plat upgrade. It also has 4x transit that isn't stipulated as US-only (unlike dining), so I'm going to give it a whirl in Europe this summer.

Congrats on the approval @K-in-Boston. It looks to be a good card to have, especially before increasing the AF in February.

Also, many thanks for your post. I was checking this card this evening and somehow, the SUB on the Amex website that I was looking into appeared to be very high 150k . I took a snapshot and without leaving the page, I applied for it and I was approved instantly for a SL of 10k. I am personally not a fan of cards with high AF and their coupon format life, while let's see how it works out in the first year.

Btw, I added the card to my digital wallet and it is ready to use. The card should physically arrive within a week or two.
