Is it true that Amex will only allow one Amazon card per person? I don't know if what the rep told me is true, but she said "one Amazon account per SSN". I have two different companies (not Sole Prop), but it seems like I'm not allowed to get an Amazon card for the second. (I am blocked by Chase for now.) Since the companies have different EINs I was hoping to get another card... if I could get the gift card signup bonus. One would be Business (not Prime) and one would be Business Prime.

the card is connected to your amazon account, so it wouldn't surprise me if the intention was that you only had one Amazon card, afaik, you can't connect two Amazon Biz cards to one Amazon account

you could certainly try with a second amazon account, but no idea if that will work or if there is actually a hard rule on Amex's end or Amazon's end to ensure it's only one card per person.

I assume they aren't interested in people maxing out the 5% on AWS with 5 different amazon cards tbh

@Swatch There are a few alternates that I know of that you can easily attach to your amazon business (non prime) account.

1) Affinity Federal Credit Union : 5% Amazon ($1,000 monthly cap)

AFCU is open to all states. Join by making a donation through the application to NJ Coalition for Fin'l Edu.The CashRewards Visa is an all bookstores 5% up to $1,000 per month for new applicants. There is (or was) a separate tiered bonus credit rewards structure that unfortunately I never cared enough about to research fully. If you search the forum you should be able to find more detailed information.

If spend is greater than $1,000/mo, you can offset with-

2) Bank of America Customized Card: 3% Online Shopping ($2,500 quarterly cap)

3) SECU MD Bank (Maryland): Visa Signature is an Amazon 3% cash back card.(not sure if there is a cap). FYI SECUMD was a pain to join during the highlight of covid due to fraud but has hopefully calmed down by now. Join by making a donation through the application to SECUMD Foundation (you choose whch charity you would like them to send your donation).

4) Finally, if you don't already have it , you could pick up the Synchrony Amazon store card for your personal account.
