AMEX Business Platinum Card - APPROVED

I recently posted about receiving a targeted SUB offer for the AMEX Business Platinum card. ($250K MR for $15K spend in 3 months.) The offer was good until 10/01/2024. I had some other spending priorities so I waited until near the expiration date to apply. I used the provided application website and entered my personal offer code and zip code. For a couple of days, I was getting a "We're sorry. We're having problems with our website ..." sort of message and inviting me to apply by phone. I wondered if something in my application was flagging it and I didn't have time to call anyway. The last day, I was still getting the error message so I called the phone application number late that evening. The representative asked me which offer I was given and she said there was no way for her to match that offer. However, she suggested transferring me to customer service to try to apply. The representative I spoke with was super nice and helpful. She got one of my other card numbers to look up my profile and then the offer code. I had not seen the special offer when I had logged in, but I believe I hadn't looked at my Blue Business Plus offers lately. She had me log in and check, and sure enough I saw it from my BBP log-in! She stayed on the line with me while I applied and was approved! Of course, the card has NPSL but also came with a generous $45K Pay over Time limit.

Long term, I'm still pretty sure this card will not be a keeper but this sweet SUB was hard to resist!

As a premium card, they over-nighted it to me and I had it in my hands less than 48 hours after applying. Super sweet Customer Service.

Congratulations! But for me, there will never be a day, when I would pay that AF, no matter how many credits they offer to offset it.

Just wonder because I already have the card and I received the same irrisistible pre approval offer (paper mail and online) for the same card. 250K Sub after spend $20K in 3 months plus $500 in statement credit if you spend $2500 in flights within 3 months. I am thinking to apply. Maybe is a softpull.

In response to the SP question, Amex will, nine times out of ten, SP you for a new card once you're in their card ecosystem. I would say it's 100% of the time, yet there are DPs of individuals being SP with existing Amex accounts.

You need 1 personal amex and then you can avoid HP's for most part on future personal and biz cards. I started out with a biz plat and they HP'd me for the blue personal card, which I mostly got just so I could apply for additional biz cards without HPs, which has been the case for the blue biz and gold biz.
