So I openned a checking/savings account for my small corp. last summer at Wells Fargo. The account appeared on my personal page and I didn't think too much about it as I wasn't ready to really transact a lot of business at that time. I am getting ready to start using the business and I applied for a credit card. Now that I was approved for the card I notice I never received anything about creating a second unique log on just for my corp. that is under its own tax id.

I called to get this set up and I was told that Wells did away with separate log ons a few years back and now all accounts you are tied to will show up under one log on.

I was concerned about new lending platforms and how they want to tie into your accounts to see revenue and expenses (plaid) and I was told that I should just set up a second limited user access log on for that and specify what accounts I want that user ID to have access to.

Did they do this because they got caught opening accounts for people and this was a way for someone to see all the accounts they have at Wells?

Technically, you do NOT need a 2nd log in with WF just because you want to keep PLAID information secure.

Yes, you can still all your accounts, Personal, Business, Personal Credit, Business Credit...all on the same page with the same log in.

If/when you register somewhere with PLAID, they will route you back to WF, ask you to log in and then click SHARE so Plaid can see what they need. For you specifically, when you do this, you ONLY need to select the particular accounts you want to share with Plaid at that time. If you only want to share 1 business and skip the others, that option is available when you agree to provide Plaid data.

Keep it simple....2nd log-in's are not neccessary just pay attention when you enable that data share
