Chase Ink Unlimited Application - Pending

Recently Chase started showing me a bunch of green-star preapprovals in Credit Journey for pretty much every personal credit card they have, and a preapproval for their auto loan. None of the credit card offers had a solid APR or a credit line, and I didn't see preapprovals for any business cards. I assumed the reason I wasn't seeing preapprovals for business cards is because my login is separate, but I probably was wrong about that. (I can't link my personal account to my business login, it's bugged)

Chase Ink Unlimited has/had (expired or expiring very soon) a elevated $900 SUB offer, and with my Ink Preferred I can get even better value from that when redeemed for business travel (a few times a year). After that it's a 1.5% back card, but also can get better value from this when redeemed for travel. So I decided to apply. No instant decision. This was on Tuesday.

Honestly, I was expecting an instant approval based on my score, lack of credit seeking, all the pre-selected business card offers, preapproved personal credit cards and other preapprovals. Maybe I should've tried a CLI first to see if they'd be willing to give me more credit, my CIP is still at its SL after almost 2 years. Always PIF.

I called the automated line to check my application status twice to see where I'm at on the Chase application flowchart, but the bot can't find any applications. Looks like it's possible to check your application status online too, but the link doesn't appear on my business login, and no apps on my personal login. I guess I need to wait a while to see if I'm approved. I got an email from them so I know they got my application.

Huh found something interesting.

I was checking every possible place I can think of on my account to see if there's a hint of an approval. Not showing up in my business and personal logins, and nothing in documents. But in the account linking menu on my business login, I see 3 different credit card numbers, 2 of which are under my business name. Chase doesn't do the separate master billing account thing, I should only have 1 number there. So might be approved...

I've been a recent chase customer for approximately 6 months or so now and it's been telling me that I've been preapproved for that card this whole time. When I applied, they didn't give me an immediate answer either and it was not showing in my app at all. The banker was saying that they were probably just trying to figure out what credit limit they should give me. I called the fallowing day and they were indeed able to see the new account with its credit limit and everything so I had them expedite the shipping of the new card. I'm sure you're fine and got approved and that it's just not showing up in the system yet.

Funny, @isik, that I just saw your post about delayed confirmation of INK Unlimited Approval. I opened one 2.5 years ago with a similar experience but it was eventually approved. (See >THIS LINK< for my experience with that application.) It seems the INK cards go through a different underwriting process. I also got that $900 SUB, held onto the card for awhile and >just closed it< when they wanted to reduce my CL for low usage. I was able to move my full $6K CL over to my INK Cash ($9K) for new $15K limit. By the way, my business cards with CHASE and AMEX have tended to be lower limits than my personal cards since they are based on a low revenue sole proprietorship side-gig as opposed to my normal household income. Your mileage on limit approvals may vary, of course. My business cards also never got really heavy spend to drive them higher.

Not an amazing SL, probably the reason it took a while. Should be enough for the SUB at least, won't miss out on "free" $900+. Planning to use it for a trip in April.

Thanks @TrapLine. I've been specifically asked several times about the huge disparity between my low business limits and my high personal limits. I'm pretty sure about the reasoning but no lender has ever explained it that way to me. It's just my own analysis. Both Chase and AMEX gave me lower limits based on the data I submitted. I've noticed that a lot of Chase business approvals tend to be fairly low to start.

I earned the SUB pretty quickly, and they gave me my points pretty fast too. Perfect timing because I need to book travel.

Aaaaaand they're not letting me move points to my CIP online. The popup says they can't verify my identity. Tried 2 networks and 2 devices and multiple times in 2 days. Going to have to call them I guess...
