Chase INK Business Preferred Application

Hi guys, so this past Saturday (12-13-25) I applied for the CIP in the afternoon, and got the "Thanks for applying, if approved, you'll receive your card in 7 to 10 business days."

Chase had called me yesterday morning, 8:51AM ET, but I was away from my phone and at work. They didn't leave a message, nor is there a notice/letter regarding the application in the Notices section in my Chase portal.

I don't want to get my hopes up, but before I call, how should I prepare? Of course, all business related questions they asked will be answered honestly regarding my business, just not sure if there is anything extra I should know going into the call, lol.

I did find it strange they didn't leave a message though. The #Chase called was from: 877-470-9042

Answer honestly and likely just verification department making sure it was you. Chase business cards are pretty easy to be approved for assuming your personal credit is good.

So, I got off the phone with them a little while ago, they just wanted to know if it was really me and not fraud. They didn't even ask me questions regarding my business, lol. Just requested documents for verification via email link. Only problem is, when I click on the link, it doesn't recognize the last 4 digits of my SSN, and I know I put it in correctly on the application - I triple checked everything before submitting. I realize though that when I click on the upload docs link, it takes me to Chase for business website, and since I cannot enroll for a business account yet, I uploaded the docs by secure message....I'll reach out to them in the evening to see if the appropriate them has them and reviewing them.

I did get a reply from Chase card services that they got my message and expect to hear back in 1 business day....still, I'll reach out later, lol.

Edit: just for the hell of it, I clicked on the email link in my phone, and voilà! it, recognized my SSN and allowed me to upload the docs, lol.
I tried originally on my desktop computer, but since I log onto my account mostly through my phone app, I guess it didn't recognize the computer? 🤷‍♂️

i'm glad that it recognized my phone....and by it, I mean Chase, lol.

I don't think you need to do anything special to prepare. But I would call their main customer service line and get redirected. Just in case that number isn't official.

Well, just got off the phone, which I believe is the Business Recon. line/application status # (800-453-9719), they confirmed they received my docs in the morning, and that it's pending, I believe the rep's exact line was "queued for reconsideration". She went on further, saying that it's up to the credit analyst/underwriter now, and for me to check back tomorrow, but "expect a letter in 1 to 2 weeks". So, heres hoping!

Yea, nothing was asked of my business, just purely verification stuff.

Proof of date of birth and physical address for authorizing officer
Proof of physical address for business (e.g. utility bill)

Question: So, according to the robo lady automated phone updater, it's saying "This application is being reviewed. You will be notified in writing, within 7 to 10 business days, of our decision".

However, when I spoke to the rep last night, and a rep maybe 10 minutes ago, they specifically said 1-2 weeks, lol. I mean, they were emphasizing it, especially the 2 week part. I know we can't put 100% stock into everything we hear and research, but I almost had my hopes up last night when the rep said 1-2 weeks, only to be let down when the automated response said 7-10 days, but then the rep just a few minutes ago said 1-2 weeks. He did advise that I call back tomorrow morning, so we will see!

It is stuck in verification it sounds like.. It will say 7-10 if i recall correctly until verified and then likely should go to approval if they have yet to review your docs. If reiewed and denied it would be 7-10 days as well. If you spoke to UW directly and they said 1-2 weeks and it hasn't been denied disregard the 7-10 message. Not saying normal CSR Representative but an actual UW have you spoken to one?

If really curious can try these #'s as will be in one of these two depts

If you are denied, call the recon number and try again. It has worked for me and many others. But let's just approve you right off the bat... good luck!

I don't remember if the guy I spoke to yesterday mentioned if he was the underwriter or a rep, but the woman I spoke to the night before (Tuesday night) said it will go to the underwriter next. Both people did say that the docs were received and pending. And both said 1-2 weeks. 8004539719 was the #I called, and will call again later today for updates!

Unfortunately, I did not get approved for the Preferred I just got off the phone with them, and they said the reason was "I did not meet the requirement for verification." (oh yea, and they couldn't go any further)

I don't get it, lol. My license and utility bill was clear as day, ugh. Oh well, theres next month.

So, I just noticed something on my utility bill that I have not noticed, well ever, because I just never paid attention to it. On my electric bill, my last name is missing a letter. My last name has six letters, and it's missing the letter M in the middle, lol.

I'm not saying that's the reason why my application was declined, but do you think CHASE would reconsider if I can supply another utility bill or corrected one?

My husband had a similar issue when he applied for one of Chase's business cards. He submitted his Driver's license and a utility bill, but the utility bill had our home address and also our mailing address on it. The representative just told him to submit another document that matched the address on the driver's license, so he submitted (I think) a bank statement with the correct address and he was approved.

I say try calling and asking what other documents you can submit.

Just got off the phone with Fraud, they can't reconsider this application anymore because "it failed to establish identity the first time, and then failed again when the docs were submitted", and the rep did admit that because it was the mispelling of my last name that got me denied. He suggest I apply again, but believes I should wait until Jan. 12th to apply.

Now, I got approved for the CSP on Wednesday, Dec. 10th, and applied for the preferred on Saturday, Dec. 13th, hoping to skate by with the 2/30 rule.

I re-tallyed up all cards, and I am below 5/24, in fact i'm at 3/24.

Should I wait until Jan. 12th to reapply for the INK business Preferred card, or apply next week, staying within the 30 day time frame when I got the CSP card?

Listen to recon agent as applications stay good in their system for 30 days is likely why he said that or likely be marked possibly as a duplicate and possibly might not be able to submit documentation for consideration again if caught up in that loop again. Just my 2 cents. Best of luck whatever you decide.

Ok, so then I should wait for 30 days and apply again with a fresh app.?
