Use upromise card to shop but NOT via upromise.com?

Just wonder if you still get extra 5% if you do that.. Say best buy, discover offers 5% cash back while Uprromjse now is like? 2% or 1.5% last I checked (anyways the actual number isn't important).. So If I buy something from best buy. Com via shop discover portal and use upromise card, will I get 5% on my upromise cars?

From the terms I know that I will have to shop from upromise to get that.. But sometimes, they don't do as they say. Like discover, they say you have to use their cards to get the cash back, but you actually still get cash back even if you don't use their card and shop through their portal.. So I am just curious if anyone has an upromise card and had tried this..

People have been known to get their rewards on their card using the Discover portal/UR portal and still get the portal's rewards, as well. It's obviously going to be hit or miss though, definitely YEMV kind of thing.

With your upromise card currently, if you purchased through BestBuy.com would you obtain the same amount of rewards? I would think if you get 5% just for shopping at BB without the upromise portal, then you should get it with the Discover portal, but I haven't experienced that for sure so I hate to tell you incorrectly.

There are peeps with upromise cards around so hopefully they'll see this thread and help ya out!

an extra question, so if i get the chase freedom card, I heard that chase has mall like shopdiscover. It is known that you -usually- can get the bonus through the mall even not using chase freedom card? i understand the mis and hit... lol there were times that I didn't get bonus from shop discover..

I have tested the UR mall but used the Marriott card and it worked just fine but have tried to use Discover and only got the Discover cash back...so this is a YMMV thing.

the only way you get the max cash back through upromise is through the upromise portal! recently upromise has been adding in store cash back but its very limited to say the least!. the upromise card is absolutely amazing for shopping online cough (staples) cough....
