BOA Approval!!!

I'm so proud of myself!!! I applied for a BOA Cash Rewards Platimum Plus MC today and was approved for an initial CL of $5000!! I applied online and thought since I was just declined a Citi CC back in May I wouldn't have a chance with this one. At first I got a message saying they needed more time to review and then I would get an email with my decision. So right away I signed in to see if a decision had been made or what would happen and it took me to a page that said:

CONGRATULATIONS!

You've been approved for the Bank of America Cash Rewards Platinum Plus® MasterCard® Credit Card with an initial credit line of $5000.00. You should receive your card in seven to ten days.

My days of bad credit are hopefully coming to a close...now onto being responsible with this new CC and raising my FICO scores.

The last time I checked my FICO was around 711...that was a few months ago so it may have changed now.

Woooo hoooo!!! Nice starting limit.

Also Suzyflower, do you have BofA as your checking account bank? I think that helped me get in, because I had been with them already as my checking account bank for over 12 years.

Congrats Susy! That's a fantastic CL.

I'm going to have to look at the rewards program of that card. Maybe I'll switch my WP MC into it since I am disappointed with the WP altogether.

Nevermind. This is a straight 1 percent card. It's almost exactly identical to the Amex Clear.

Congrats! I wish I could get that 5K+ line from BoA, Chase, or Citi! You really did well - I bet that Citi card you wanted will be within reach with 6 or 8 months of more good history and low util!

I'm surprised Citi hasn't upped mine, but perhaps it's been because I've been carrying a relatively high balance with them for a bit (although I've been paying it down). Then BoA and Chase I hardly use, so what can I expect. Oh well, looks like I'll have to switch my primary use cards .

I agree, Fretless - the WorldPoints program leaves a lot to be desired, in my mind. Not only is the conversion ratio of points to rewards not nearly what it should be, but the expiration date of the points makes it even worse. WorldPoints get a lot better if you use the BankAmericard (1.25 base + 25% bonus at the end of the year) and have a BoA checking/savings. Otherwise, I'd stick to something like Citi Dividend or Chase Freedom. Amex Clear works too (and it's what I'll be using come August when my product change begins!).

I have never been through BK and I'm not sure which credit report they pulled for the BofA card but on EX I have two baddies one from a 30 day late in 2006 and a 150 day late from 2001 set to come off in October. The 2001 baddie is why I did not get approved for the Citi CC I wanted, the baddie was from a BP/Citi backed CC. I had one baddie on EQ when I pulled it, the 2006 late, and I've never been able to get a free copy of my CR from TU. They always say my identity can't be verified and I'm too lazy to call the 800 number for customer service.
