Security Service looks like a credit Union with rather limited membership options. I don't think I would choose it over AARP even if I did happen to live in Texas.

I was considering getting a Sams Club credit card and/or one other I forgot, both from Synchrony, because of the 3% cash back on restaurants during quarters when I don't get 5% from Discover etc. But after reading the fine print I'm not sure I like the deal. It said the rewards expire after 24 months. I always forget to cash in my rewards, but it's not usually a problem, because my cards mostly have rewards that never expire. And also the rewards expire after 12 months if you don't use the card in those 12 months. But that's not a real problem. The 24 months is the real problem.

Are there any other banks whose credit cards have 3% cash back on restaurants? Not counting the ones that only have them some quarters of the year. And not counting Amex, because I have other reasons for not applying for an Amex card.

Right now the best I have for restaurants during off quarters is an Amazon card from Chase, at 2%. I got it partly for that 2% and partly because I got an Amazon gift card added to my Amazon account for signing up for it. I used to have a 2%-on-everything card, but it got reduced to 1.5%, which is why I even care about other cards to maximize my rewards on everything. I use BoA now for Walmart, because it gives 2%. I used to use Penfed there, but now they're only good for gas, at 5%, during quarters when Discover isn't 5% gas.

Probably the best everyday Restaurant card is the Security Service Power Travel Rewards World MasterCard.

3X Gas, Travel, Dining, 1X everything else. Plus an annual 10% bonus on points earned.

No annual fee.

No cash advance fee.

No balance transfer fee.

No foreign transaction fee.

You have to have a yearly income of at least $50,000 to get this card.

Credit limits available up to $50,000

Purchase APR between 10.00% - 11.00%

No limit on number of points you can accumumate per year on this card.

Points earned on this card have no expiration date. Note: their other cards do have points caps and expiration dates.

Someone on myfico told me that they don't have a statement credit option, but Amazon.com gift cards are available at a 1pt = 1cent valuation. I don't know how big of a gift card you need to buy to get that valuation. If anyone has more details i'd be interested, as would others I'm sure.

So basically, 3.3% cash back with no spending caps, and a low APR (for a rewards credit card) for purchases. Without a lot of common fees.
