I think you'll have the best luck with the US Bank and Amex apps and if US Bank pulls EX in your area, I'd go for them first. For Citi, make sure you don't have more than 6 inquiries in the last six months. Amex is great even if you have a thin file like you have right now and because it seems like you already established a good relationship with US Bank, that will probably be one of the factors they will consider.

US Bank seems to hate short histories and inquiries.

They also do this really annoying thing that when you don't qualify for the Prime Visa Signature on the carlson card they will give you a platinum carlson which has a smaller sign up bonus, fewer ongoing rewards and smaller anniversary bonus. It is still worth applying for since this is the most amazing hotel card out there in my opinion, but be careful.

Yeah, see....They even nerf the signup bonuses on application.

The more I learn about this bank, the more I dislike.

They really can be terrible. When i applied for my cash+ they downsold me to their cash rewards card. I was able to PC after two months so that turned out ok. However with the carlson it's different: if you get downsold you get a much lower signup bonus and gwnerally a worse card but one still with an AF. So you can't just SD it until you can get it upgraded. I wish they would just reject you or at least ask if you want to be considered for the lesser version. They just give it to you
