Is this normal for Barclays re delivery of card?

Was approved on Friday for US Airways card and added my g/f as an AU. I didn't ask for expedited delivery but they went ahead and charged me $15 for it and sent it via FedEx. What I find strange is that they only sent my card and not my g/fs. When I went to activate my card it actually said it was gong to activate both cards. I think it's kind of strange to activate a card that hadn't been received yet so I called them. The CSR said that they sent my g/s card via regular mail and would receive it in 7-10 days. Why in the world didn't they just out in the same envelope that they sent me?

This is weird. I have always receive both cards in same envelop including those from barclays. The only exception to it was my local CU here who sent the 2 cards seperately..

When i got my us airways card they just emailed me when they sent it out via snail mail. and it took about 2 days after that to arrive. Nothing special like UPS or anything. I didn't add anybody as AU though , i activated by phone i think if i remember , and that was it and used it last week to buy something off ebay , and hopfully my 40k will post after it leaves pending.

"Express Delivery If you are approved for an account your card will be sent via next day FedEx delivery after your account is opened if the request is made before 3:00pm EST of that day. If the request is made after 3:00pm EST delivery will be made the following day. Delivery will be made only to your home address and a signature is required. If you added an additional card user(s) on your application the additional card(s) can not be express delivered."

They say it in Legal terms and conditions.

Are you sure that you didn't tick the Express Delivery option?

Now that you mention it I may have very well checked the box and forgotten about because I had to call in. I'm not upset with that part as I more often than not request expedited delivery. My bigger concern was the activation process where when I went to activate mine it activated mine and a card still in the mail. Seems like that's ripe for potential fraud. And wonder why they can send both cars at once. Seems like everyone else does.

I didnt do fed ex with my US airway but I had an authorized user and cards were sent separately. With chase I added an AU and requested for expediated delivery. I received same cards twice-one by regular delivery and the other by regular mail. I said what do I do with the 2nd cards-they said whatever I wanted.
