Which card I could get?

Wanted to get a credit card secured or not and was wondering which one someone could rec

532 511 539

Wanted to try rebuilding. Everything negative on my account is mostly over 6 years old and will fall off sometime next year pretty much. I've already got the crown jeweler account as well.

my bank is actually BoA and I tried getting the $200 secured card and they declined me. is that normal? Is the other offer something different or would I prob get declined for that too?

I would suggest trying to credit step your way down the Capital One road. It is worth a try.

you may get Orchard bank partially secured $49 payment or the $200 secured card as well.

I applied for the orchard card and they "approved" me for the

Annual Percentage Rate (APR) for Purchases Variable Customary APR: 7.90%1 will apply.

waive first year $39 fee and $200 minimum secured card.

Is this a decent one to have initially?

Not bad. You have to crawl before you walk and walk before you run. I would still look at Capital One though. They have not CraP1'ND me yet.

I would suggest try for Crap 1 and maybe a targetcard. The Orchard bank card I would still take even if you get the other 2 because it will help to build a positive history that won't leave your CR's blank when the baddies drop off.

the target seems to be an easy card to get.I was approved for it after going to target and purchasing some items for my daughter totally about 170 bucks. I went to use my cc and the cashier asked I wanted a target card after I scanned my other cc (I think its a preapproval when they do that). 200 bucks but I think that's the norm

Target card is not so easy to get with mid 500 scores. To have a good shot most report that you need at least low 600's. There are quite a few sub-prime out there. Credit One bank, Orchard, First Premier to name a few.

To the OP: Did you apply for one their "credit in need of improvement" cards in the card lab??

I recommend Credit One (creditonebank.com). I had scores similar to yours and was approved for a $300 CLI with an annual fee (deducted monthly) and a $59 processing security fee. Since then, I had two CLI's and have a 700 CL, with them. Still not great, but it helped me build my credit and I now have been approved for a $3,000 Target Visa CL and a $3,000 Discover CL.

Before MyFico (11/2007): EQ: 554 TU: 530

After MyFico (7/2008): EQ: 662 TU: 651

Hey there,

Don't shed a tear. You are doing the right thing. You need good credit to help dilute the bad. If those baddies on your CR are going to fall off in a year or so your going to be golden soon. Open up with a couple rebuilder cards, make your payments on time and you'll be all set. I started with First Premier Bank..ugh! I'm closing that one next week. Legacy, that ones in the crapper too next week. Capitol One I have had that for about 10 years so I can't afford to close that one down but it's been soo SD'd that I should check to make sure it hasn't evaporated! LOL! Anyway, time and patience and all will be well.

I guess they changed the name of the option.

No, look for other for alternatives. But also be grateful that you were offered an opportunity by Orchard.
