Wamu Petsmart Visa

Seems Wamu has a new rewards visa with Petsmart, just got a preapproval from them today and have never seen it before. Says APR 16.99% and limit up to $7500. You get 3 points per dollar spent at Petsmart and 1 point per dollar spent elsewhere. And since I have no pets I will have to pass.

I have their Plat MC so I just went on their site and I don't see it. I shop at Petsmart a lot for my 4 cats and would LOVE to have it!

I want that ASPCA card from Chase as I donate to them and buy stuff on their website but

I can't answer the 3 dreaded questions. I have two WAMU cards now and just got 1000 cli. I don't think you can have more than two???????

Yes, I have the Chase ASPCA one - the Kitty Kard. It's sooo cute! It's a mom cat grooming her baby. Anything that supports animals, I'm there so if they offer that Petsmart one, I'll take it!

greekjim, just went to the Petsmart site and that card is great! You can even personalize it with a pic of one of your pets. I wonder would WAMU let me switch out the boring silevre one I have, and give me that one???

I am fuming right now! WAMU must have the worst customer service of any major credit card company. I was on the phone fifteen minutes with 2 different reps who couldn't understand me (nor I them!) and could not grasp that all I wanted to know was if I could do a product switch form the MC to the Petsmart Visa. One kept asking me if I wanted to do a balance transfer! (balance transfer never came up in the conversation on my part)

Forget it. It's not worth the aggravation to get the card but I sent them a secure message telling them of my displeasure at the service I received. This is ridiculous!

Okay you guys...I could not resist this card, the rewards were too good to pass up for a pet owner...I even was able to upload a super cute pic of my dog for the card. I applied and was approved with a 3,000 CL. After the six month 0% APR is done they have me at 12.74%, wish it was lower but it isn't the highest APR they can dish out either. I took advantage of their no fee BT and moved some of my Wells Fargo Visa balance over to it. I'm done apping now for a long time...maybe in a year or so I can app for one of the Citi Rewards cards and then onto buying a house!

One other question? WaMu is considered Prime? I can't quite get the hang of subprime v. prime.

MsQueenBe: Sorry about the bad customer service...hopefully I will not have to deal with that too much.

Hey MsQueenB--Do you click every day to give food? I love their animal rescue site. I just donated for dog that need operation and also to sea mammal upkeep. North Shore Animal League is awesome. I am a serious animal lover.

As for the credit card. I can't answer the BK question. Rep told me to apply anyway and they will call and discuss the BK. I'm going to wait 'til my CCCU is turns 1.

casinoannie, you are my kinda girl! I have 4 indoor cats of which 2 were strays (about to adopt another one from the backyard). Last year I fed (and I am not kidding) about 12 strays from the neighborhood!

You know the story: people don't spay or neuter and the kittens (or puppies) just keep coming. Gotta feed the hungry animals just as I would feed a hungry person.

If you're feeding strays/ferals... are you familiar with TNR (trap, neuter, release)?

We have a small feral colony (8-12 cats) living under our shed- the reason it's stayed small (despite some of the neighbors' unfixed toms ) is that we've been working on trapping them and getting them rabies-vaccinated and fixed. They're too wild to be real pets (I can pet a couple of them while they're eating, but no other time), but at least they have a dry place to sleep (large Rubbermaid container with a hole in the side lined with styrofoam and pine bedding), are well-fed, and won't turn into a colony of 100+ kitties...

There's a group in our area called Operation Catnip that does free spay/neuter/vaccinate for ferals, and another- PAL (Prevent A Litter) that does low-cost spay/neuter for owned pets.

If I hadn't decided that I am not going to get any more CC's this year (so we can refi the truck loan), I'd get that Petsmart Visa. My 9 indoor kitties and the ferals eat quite a bit...

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you that are so caring towards animals and trying to help those around you that have come into the world due to others negligence and irresponsible nature. UpUpUp, thank you for your kind words! It is my pleasure to help the helpless. As you said, it's not their fault they're homeless and needy. I convinced my neighbor to neuter her dog. She says he seems happier and calmer. He's confined in a pen in their backyard (at least they do walk him) and he can't get to other dogs so yeah, he's hyped up all the time!

I even have the ASPCA checks, the ASPCA Visa. I do all I can and it is not a problem for me. One of my neighbors said, "Well, if you keep feeding them they'll never go away". So what, I asked?

I leave dry food and water on my front for the strays and two nights ago I went to close the shutters in

the front before going to bed and there was a big possum eating the catfood! He was an ugly critter and I hope he hasn't been eating all the cat's food becasue the bowl is always empty in the mornings. Oh, well. Watch gonna do?

MsMs, I haven't personally trapped any strays, but my neighbors have. Even after being fixed, they're still hungry. Problem is, once "word" gets out that food is on someone's stoop, they must tell all their friends!

Yes, I feed cats and I have a birdbath in my backyard so I spend a lot on birdseed, too. I love the little sparrows and grey doves but when the pigeons come, they try to eat allt he food from the others.

I applied online for the Wamu PetSmart Visa and was approved online for a $3,000 CL. I got an email today that said this:

Congratulations on your new PetSmart PetPerks Visa(R) Card account*! Thank you for taking advantage of our online application.

*Please note, this online credit decision is subject to satisfactory verification of the information provided in your application. If we are unable to provide you with this account, we will send you a written explanation.

Just wondering is there a chance that I could get declined for the card even though I was approved online?

We have a large feral community here in New London CT. My vet is awesome and donates spaying for then. They then cut tip of ear so we know they are spayed. The people in community feed them.

I have two cats, one was abused and one handed to me from a man being evicted. They are my loves. My yellow boy sits in front of my computer with his ass on the screen so I can't work. LOL I just adore that.

Susyflower, congrats & you'll probably be fine. They pretty much all have that fine print message after you get approved and I've never been declined after getting an approval message. I don't think I've read about anyone else here yet.

To everyone else, you guys rock! I wish I could talk my neighbors into s/n their outdoor cats. I've already had the unpleasant experience of notifying them that one of their little guys was hit by a car on the street behind us. I LOVE that cat. Fed him and gave him shelter in the cold and the snow. What did they do? Got another kitten and tossed him out after a few weeks, too. Mind you we live in a very built up area, with storefronts and a 4 lane road at the end of our block, and that was the 2nd kitty they have had hit by a car in the 2 years we've lived here. It breaks my heart.

Anyway...last summer I ended up with a litter of 5 kittens abandoned by mom in the middle of a hot 90's day and scattered all over our yard. They were sick, dehydrated, underweight/starving. We spent a small fortune getting these kittens well and I spent the first few weeks with zero sleep bottlefeeding and bathing. I've fostered and bottlefed before, but these guys were sooooo sick and sooo small that between the bottle feedings, medicines, bathing, vet visits (every day for almost 2 weeks) etc. it was literally a 24 hour job. Man, I loved those little monkeys and I sure do miss 'em (We kept one, she's a little handicapped but that makes us love her more!). But, it doesn't give me much love for my neighbors. There is an alley cat around here that I've been told has been here for years. We feed him too, but so does the nice lady next door. Last year I t/n/r'ed him. He's not fighting with the other cats as much and he won't be a Daddy again! Yippee. A few weeks ago, I noticed 2 newbie cats in our neighborhood. They have taken up residency on my neighbors porch, but they aren't hers and they won't let us get close to them. They are going to be this summers project...

Ok, here we go wuth WAMU's customer service again! I called last night and got a rep in Texas (thank goodness!) and she told me that the card was by "invitation only" thru the mail. I said,"Ok - thanks"!

I went to PetSmart's site, clicked on apply for the card and was approved for a 3k credit limit. Looks like WAMU is being stingy to start off with but that's good enough for me. I go to PetSmart at least 4 to 5 times a month so the rewards should rack up.

Can we believe anything the customer reps from WAMU say???
