Yes.

They pull EX and they won't use your PIN if it's frozen.

You'll also have to remit the $50 deficit you start in savings to join before they'll process the app.

Good lord they are slow.

They're already reporting on EX and the account reports as opening in 01/15 which is really annoying me

I was approved for the Azure for $20k. I asked for $30k to match NASA but they were having none of it.

Happy with the limit, but I feel like I'm definitely going to push all payments to this account with as long as everything has taken so far.

So did you have to maintain a savings and a checking account with the UNFCU? It seems this is the only true pin and chip card. With the US card companies having decided to dump chip and pin so clients do have to bother to remember pins, I have to look for a true chip and pin card. I travel much and during my business trip, I had embarrassing movements when my chip and signature card would not work in China. Since I am not a U.N. staff, I presume I will have to pay an annual fee of some $40 to UNA?

You have to open a savings account and deposit $50, plus join UNA-USA for $25 or something.

So yeah there's some cost involved, but I didn't mind for a true chip and pin.

Thanks. I am starting my application process by first taking up renewal membership of UN USA Asociation. Did you have to send your tax return for verificcation or was last two pay stubs sufficient?

I received an approval for a UNFCU Visa Azure for $45,000. Not sure if I will receive the card by next week. I am traveling to Panama for a spring break vacation. Thanks everyone for the tips.

The process is long, but the benefits of chip and pin are worth it. Too bad the major banks and Amex have decided to sit out and lose the lucrative international transactions to credit unions.

Congrats on the approval and very nice CL l but just so you know there are other options for Chip and Pin besides the UN card. PenFed offers them as well and I'm pretty sure the Senate CU card is one also. Not that's it's currently available but my and others Diners Club card are chip and pin

Penfed certainly isn't "true" chip&pin, as it is signature priority and impossible to change the PIN in an ATM. What about NFCU and USAA?

Thanks. I tried to request an expedite but was told it will take a minimum of 2 weeks even with an expedite. I am traveling overseas next Friday. So I decided there was no point in paying a fedex overnight charge if it was going to arrive while I am overseas. But I do hope it arrives before end of March, because I head on a long overseas trip again.
