CSP increase?

Hi all!

Has anyone had any luck with requesting a credit limit increase for their Chase Sapphire Preferred? I just got an automatic increase of $1500 about 5 months ago and I was wondering if I should try to ask for another?

Remember that if you ask for a CLI, it is almost always an HP.

+1. If it was me I would be more inclined to app for another chase card instead of taking a HP on a CLI.

+1. They decide when to give you a CLI. But if you request it, then HP.

if you ask for a cli they will hard pull you i didnt get any auto cli increases on my chase freedom so I decided to take the hp and just cli the freedom

Agreed. As your score improves, Chase anecdotally gives progressively higher limits and lower APRs (on flexible APR cards).

If you have an HP to spare, pick a nice Chase card (that you like and didn't app for already) and go for it. Chase pre-app is a nice place to start looking. Ritz and Mariott bigger sign-up bonuses are there around the corner

Then juggle the credit limits around a bit. I believe you can do that when you call the CSR to activate your new card (may be possible even before that).

If you don't have an HP to spare, wait for a few months for Chase to do another auto. People have also reported that they send you invitation mails to apply for an SP increase. But do remember that you have to wait for them to initiate such discussion.

True. However, there is something called a trade-off and it never hurts aiming for the best result
