Can I cancel Crown Jewellers?

Ok, so I read this site and realized that Crown Jewellers was a way to help get a positive TL with sunpar credit and so my friend and I both signed up (we are both trying to fix our credit).

I ordered a bracelet for $49 (supposedly on sale from $99) and paid $22 down using paypal.

I was then approved for a Kays card for $1200.

I then received my $99 bracelet in the mail and am very disapointed. I really don't think this bracelet is worth more than $20. I really just want to pay it off and not buy anything else but I don't know just how significant that $1500 or $2500 tradeline will be to my report (I don't know how they will report it).

Do you think that I should be ok with just my Kays and the other ccs I got recently to help reestablish my lines?

I would keep the CJ it will help with your utilization. If you don't order from them every 6 months they close the account. There are no annual fees so once you've paid the balance, just let it report the 2500 CL. You are trying to improve your scores, let it sit open. Mine reports as a $2500 CL I figure ordering a $30 peice of jewelry no different than an AF.

I would really suggest that you keep CJ open. I don't know of anyone on here that has them because they have nice jewelry, it's all about the CL and the help that this will give your utilization. Just by something small every 6 months or so and it will help a great deal.

True, I should just think of it as AF's that will result in a gift for someone, haha

I would keep the account...see if there are really small items you can buy. Maybe they offer jewelry cleaning for $14.99 or something...

Don't cancel it.

Try calling CJ's customer service, to see if you can return the bracelet. And just buy some of the cheap silver jewelry they have on their website.

Personally, I wouldn't cancel until your score are mid 700's or at least close to it. It's a CL for 2.k which helps with utilization etc.
