Received a pre-qual for a Verve MasterCard issued by Continental Finance Company. 500 starting limit. $125 first year annual fee ($96 thereafter) and a $5 monthly service fee (waived for first year). Should I take it?

This is like the worst possible credit card I have ever seen.

I mean, if you like fees and are OK with paying them then by all means, accept.

My friend got that same exact offer and he never used the card and they just closed the account.

That "offer" is even worse than what Credit One sticks to folks just out of BK. With your other cards it makes no sense for you to accept those really awful terms.

Why on earth would you take this offer especially given you already have a card with Barclays in your sig?

A general rule: any card with a monthly fee is very likely to be a rip off

But I am interested in what even made you ask. The high AF, the monthly fee (even if waived) and for what?

Why on God's green earth would you want that card? It is charging you an annual fee just for the privledge of using it with no rewards, has a terrible starting limit, and a service fee too? Who would want that? I suppose if you were rebuilding, but even then, get a secured Capital One before you go for this garbage. And you look like you have some decent cards already so I don't know why you'd even consider it.

My other cards are maxed out so another limit would be helpful until I can pay the balances down. No need to all jump on me at once. Not everyone has access to huge credit lines with favorable terms.

I think the point everyone was trying to make is that this card is awful as awful gets and if that is truly your situation, more cards, ESPECIALLY this one will only serve to put you deeper in the hole.

Just received an offer for First Premier Platinum MasterCard with a $700 limit. There is a $79 annual fee and a $8 monthly servicing fee. Funny thing is I had a Fp card charged off years back.

I was hoping to start getting prime card offers. Why am I only receiving sub-prime cards still?
