The only reason I am downgrading instead of getting rid of it is that I like the restaurant bonus. I don't have large enough regular travel expenses to make the AF worthwhile so I can live without those. The other benefits of the CSP I get from my bold card and it does not make any sense for me to pay two AFs. Any advice? Sorry about the thread hi-jack.

The AF is vastly different so it depends on how you value the perks of each card. The Ritz card has a lot of benefits, but its also a high AF. If your not going to use the benefits on it then its a total waste of money. The first question would be which do you stay at more Ritz or Marriott?

The freedom is a no-AF card so I wouldn't close that one and it has decent rotating categories. the ink (assuming you have the bold or plus) and csp overlap. For me I am likely to downgrade the csp to a non-AF CS and then eventually I will close the account all together. The only reason I am downgrading instead of getting rid of it is that I like the restaurant bonus. I don't have large enough regular travel expenses to make the AF worthwhile so I can live without those. The other benefits of the CSP I get from my bold card and it does not make any sense for me to pay two AFs. The CSP signup bonus is much better than the freedom signup IMO.

I am probably going to do samething sometime in april. I am wondering how long the downgrade from CSP to CS will last.

Freedom is an ok card, I don't really understand the love for it as IMO the categories tend to be more restrictive on average than Discover's. Of course, I guess most people who really love Freedom pair it with a CSP and transfer the points.

By itself, it isn't that exciting IMO. No shame in closing it.

So i am contemplating do i really need CSP or Ink plus anymore. I am very disappointed with KE disappearing with no notice and UAL devaluation. I can use MR to transfer to either BA or SQ, so that doesn't really give UR an advantage there.
