BOA Visa Signature questions

I have been searching some old threads in regards to BOA Visa signature. I was told by another member here, that I should upgrade to this card. I haven't found any solid information on this card reporting the CL to all 3 credit bureaus. Can anyone please confirm this? As far as spending limit goes, does this card operate like a Amex charge card? No real preset spending limit. My initial CL prior to the upgrade was 5k, will this remain the same or will it increase? Thanks in advance for all the feedback.

Yes the limit will report. That wasnt the case a few years ago, but yes they report it now.

$5k is usually their minimum for issuing a Visa Signature, are you planning to ask for a CLI - I'm not clear since you mention initial CL. Just requesting an upgrade to Signature will not give you a CLI, but you do get no preset spending. You're expected to pay any amount over CL in full though.

You will likely (I say likely, because not all banks seem to honor Visa "Signature" benefits) get additional benefits such as purchase warranties, emergency services like roadside dispatch, and travel insurance. An oh, also a Concierge service should you ever need to order some Grey Poupon.

I'm still wondering why I have to get a new card? Does the standard cash rewards card look different than the signature version?

I got renewal sig cards in the mail a few days ago. The new ones are chipped. Not sure when that started, but perhaps a reason to give you new cards?

Ok. Well mines currently has the " Chip" technology so maybe I will just end up with a new card number.... perhaps.

It just has Signature printed below Visa. It depends how bad you want it. If it doesn't matter, then don't do the upgrade.

Ah. A member here suggest I upgrade to it, which I did already. I was just unsure on some key points an benefits to having this card as it will be my 1st.

Yes, they will send you a new card with new number. It will say Signature below the VISA logo. You still get the rewards as always. So make sure you change your card if you have any automatic payments with it.
