That's a killer APR! I would not have applied for the card anyways due to the high APR.

Yeah...Once I saw it had an AF and an APR that's worse than my Cash Advance APR on my other cards...

I have this card. No annual fee, and 15.9%. The latter doesn't matter since I pay it off every month. They started me at $1250 and, as promised, doubled it after 7 months.

That card helped me rebuild my credit. Merrick was my saving grace haha. It is a hot mess of a card though. Closed it about 4 months ago.

i have the card its a pretty good card. Well I was rebuilding when I got but kept it. They doubled my limit after 6 months of having the card then had to wait another year before an increase. AF is $4 a month. You cant call and ask for an increase, they review your account on their terms and give out increases after the first auto increase. My card has a limit of just 2200 on it.

Congrats on your success and building credit. Many of us have started with builder cards and over time have been able to add more prime cards (define prime?). Sure did for me.

The point of the thread is to show just how slow building credit is...

To think I went from where i'd have accepted an offer like this to turning down FNBO in a span of a year is interesting to say the least.

It's not the worst offer in the world (Not great either though.)

But it's too little, too late.

That's a better APR than my Merrick Card! Anyway, I'd pass if I were you. I'll likely be closing my account once I pay off some promo balances on other cards.

Merrick is the best of the re-builder cards period other then secured... Nixon is obviously beyond merrick, but had this card for a year before I cancelled it.. I had no AF on my version. Merrick>Legacy>Credit1>FP

Agreed. It's a no-frills, no rewards, high APR CC, but there's also no absurd fees (like FP or CreditOne) and a grace period (unlike CreditOne)

Plus you get a real TU CC Ehanced Fico score too.. Which happened to match my score Chase gave me on my letter, weird or more to it? Meaning did Chase use TU CC enhanced.. Anyways, speculation
