USAA Mastercard?

I signed up at USAA's web site today so I could get an auto insurance quote since Esurance jacks my rate every six months for no other reason than they think they can. Anyway, I noticed USAA has a Mastercard product with the same cash back structure as Cap One's QS - 1.5% on everything. No annual fees, and the picture is the World. Anybody have experience with them? Hard to get? Easy to get? Starting line? Customer service?

CAPTOOL - USAA tends to be conservative and yet reasonable. Several years back I applied for membership and added banking services and a credit card. To my surprise I got approved for a USAA World MasterCard and you could have blown me over with a feather as it was my first real cc in ten years. Later went back and added a second card AX. Also added investments. Their insurance products receive raves from other posters so it may be worth your consideration.

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. I'll add their card to my want list for when I start apping again. Probably too soon now. Their insurance quote is less than I'm paying with Esurance, but more than the quote I got from Progressive. Decisions, decisions.

Hey Captool,

USAA is an outstanding company all the way around to get in with if you're eligible for their products. They are more conservative as was mentioned, but they will take care of you if you take care of them. In my honest opinion, they are more worth it than a slightly less expensive company for insurance products, in that they won't run the rate back up again at renewal once they've hooked you like some others will. Having said that, I can't say that Progressive is one to do that, and to their credit, Progressive actually handles some of the insurance (like boat, some motorcycle, etc) that USAA "outsources" for various reasons, so they must not be a bad company generally speaking.

They have an impressive assortment of products available and their customer service is typically excellent. It's all part of why they say 98% of their members stay with USAA.

Just accidentally applied for this card (yes it was by accident.) And we got approved for 15k opening cl. I'm happy and glad it happened on this card. As for usaa, we have been members since 98, bank with them and have their insurance. We are thinking if refinancing the car through them. We also have 2 small limit cards from them we used to rebuild or credit. They have been wonderful!

SOOO maybe if you click to apply thinking it will give you another page to look at but it doesn't ?? Maybe it just goes through just like that?? I was going to poke around to see when I logged in to USAA but then worried if it's that simple, I might inadvertently do the same. ??

Anyway, I noticed USAA has a Mastercard product with the same cash back structure as Cap One's QS - 1.5% on everything. No annual fees, and the picture is the World. Anybody have experience with them? Hard to get? Easy to get? Starting line? Customer service?

The kicker with that card is that rewards only post once a year (in January).

That's weird. I see that on their site for their cards, but mine doesn't do that. I must be grandfathered in under an old rule or something because mine update every month on the statement cycle and I can use them anytime I want.
