This is an awful credit card... I hope, sincerely that no one who educates themselves on these forums is smart/informed enough to not apply for this card.

^^^^ Wow, kind of harsh words. I considered myself to be educated on the forums and I did get the card. I go to the store almost every week for my son who is a serious gamer. There is no annual fee and I get extra points for usage. So, why not use the credit card for purchases and then pay and get the extra points and rewards. FYI, I received $25 off a game for my son today with the points with the power up and for signing up.

Anyway, to the OP, I have not received it as of yet but the sales clerk in the store said she received her today and said I should be getting mine soon.

Keep in mind that "awful" is quite subjective.

You're only charged interest if you don't pay your balance in full.

That being said, if someone wants the card with this high interest rate, then it isn't so awful to them, now is it?

i saw the card and im a rewards memeber and buy lots of games for me and brothers but i did not bother to get the card. It has a high interest and it be another inquery. I did read on the terms and conditions that there is a minimum interest of $2 i dont know if that applies if you pay in full

no one asked if you thought the card was awful or good, i asked if anyone has received their card yet or not. thanks to the people who answered what i asked. the card works for me since i shop their alot for my kids. i plan not to leave a balance on games since i dont spend alot anyway

your amazon store card has 25.99 apr and a minium interest of 1.50 so i guess thats a horrible card also huh

It actually isn't a horrible card if used properly. I get 0% interest on high dollar purchases with varying time frames dependent upon dollar amount.

dont worry i got 15 dollars extra for signing up, no big deal but it buys a used game for the kids, get special financing options also and dont leave a balance on small purchases . hahaha you must be a gamestop hater its ok

I don't hate Gamestop, I have the Power Up Rewards card and have been receiving Game Informer every month for the last 7 years. I do find myself using Amazon now for video games, but I don't mind Gamestop either. I just think they have a ridiculous credit card targeted towards a group of people who don't know a thing about credit mangement. I'm not fond of companies preying on our youth.

alot of cards out there have high interest rates even for people with great credit. as long as they do their homework pay on time and dont carry a balance or a large one they should be fine. everyone has to take their own risk and go for what satisfies them and be responsible thats how this credit game is

+1 to this... I know there are plenty of financially responsible Gamestop patrons who might use this card wisely, but that store is specifically geared toward a younger crowd that is more likely than not to have limited income and is enticed at every corner to spend-spend-spend to fuel their gaming habit. A store card for Gamestop is not unlike the "get a free t-shirt with a credit card app" stands that were set up on the quad back when I was in college.

Ah...the days of easy credit. That's how I wound up $30K in CC debt.

In any case, I really don't see Gamestop as any more predatorial than any other store card. If there are good rewards for use and you PIF, store cards can often make more sense than other rewards CCs.

I don't want to seem argumentative so I won't comment on some of the responses BUT I do find that this card will be a great rebuilder card for those who are interested in shopping trick card. You can't go wrong with a Comenity account anyways. If used properly you can reap alot of rewards like SunriseEarth says. I applied for the card and don't find it awful at all. Like all of my other store cards with ridiculous APR I will take advantage of financing and points options.

I'm also 26 years old with 3 sons....so this card will come in handy for years to come. Also, statistics have proven that alot of guys my age enjoy gaming I'll look at this as a shopping cart trick aimed for guys who don't want to get a VS card lol

I'll just clarify my earlier comment: I think the card itself is fine, just like any other Comenity IMO. I'd probably get one myself if I hadn't just done a big app spree. My issue was the target demographic; of course, not every 20-something is prone to mishandling credit but enough of them are to warrant concern. Heck, I know I would have gotten myself into trouble if this card was available and marketed to me when I was in college.

I've been lurking these forums since I was 18 years old. I always find it hard to believe that everyone who is starting out fresh with their credit is deemed financially irresponsible.I've seen plently of young people on this forum alone who should put that stigma to rest. I don't believe that this card is targeted for people in a certain age group. When I go into the store and from what I've seen online more parents with children are getting the card to entertain their kids. Even though I'm an avid gamer myself I'm a mom with 3 small boys so now I can buy them that ridiculous skylander stuff without breaking the bank immediately and getting alot of points.

I know that young people may seem irresponsible but I've seen more established adults (people 35+) ruining their credit. Goes to show its just the mindset of the person. Age really means nothing when it comes to credit.
