Walmart Credit Card

Hi all, when I was rebuilding I apped and was approved for the Walmart CC w/ $1000 CL. I now have Barclays, 2 x Amex, Cap One, NFCU Visa, etc., and I don't shop at Walmart. This card is under a year old. I thought the reason I signed up for this card was because I could PC it to a Discover card-- but I can't remember now. Is it true I can PC this? Or Should I just cancel it?

Tough Call. Walmart is now a Mastercard, they switched from Discover last Summer. You would be giving up 1 year of AAof A if you closed it, but you have Amex and Barclay's already...

Only thing you save in a PC on this card is a HP. The account gets closed and a new account is opened for the MC effecting your AAoA. Not really worth it IMO as there are no rewards and the store card has special financing.

I do believe its an invitation to pc from a walmart to walmart mc. They used to do it in batches of people at a time when I got the invite to the discover. The walmart MC does have a rewards.. 5 cents off a gallon at the walmart murphy's and 5 dollars back for every $500 spent.

5 cents per gallon is available on the store card aswell so really not a reward for the MC. And I guess it is a 1% card, still not worth a AAoA hit IMO.

The one benefit of a walmart card is the free fico score. But then again you have Barclay's. Since you have a decent limit, have you tried for a CLI? And then prob sock draw it for a while?
