how often should you check prequal sites

is there any benefit to checking prequalify sites daily.......helping my brother in law rebuild.....he has managed to get a couple of Cap 1 cards but is starting to rack up inquiries and denials. Steering him clear of Credit One and FP.

There's no benefit or harm in checking those sites

Just curious as to whether or not they actually do soft pulls when you do use them..........we monitor EQ and never see any SP listed. He is monitoring EX also and can only see the HP even though there is no place to check for SP

I check every couple weeks. Yesterday I had Chase offers, today I didn't. Nothing changed overnight.

ok....I can see that.......he's probably a long way from prime cards but getting the Cap 1 cards has made him want to get more cards..... I may be creating a monster

It does help some.......but not much fun when they have " no offers". Seems like Cap 1 and Chase are pretty solid........he blew 3 inquiries on the Credit Card Match site though and another 2 on CK by responding to "very good" offers.

Seriously, I think once they fix bit of their credit history and raise score up, then they can go ahead and apply for multiple cards like Oprah is giving away high limit credit. But as of now, "work with what you got" would be the best.

I check prequals when I get bored and have nothing better to do. Heh. I have a while yet before I'm ready to apply for more stuff but I admit I check a lot.

I check sometimes and usually get nothing. Only real prequal I've ever gotten has been a Credit One card.

Also majority of the cards I have now, including CSP I never got a prequalified offer for. I use Credit Pulls Database heavily to guide my decisions on what/what not to app for.
