Can anyone tell me if I have a decent chance at an AMEX with these scores? My only baddies are 6 charge-offs from a year ago, which are all paid in full.

TU 06/18/2007 - 624
EX 06/18/2007 - 613
EQ 07/05/2007 - 641

I'm pretty sure its a long shot, but I would like the forums opinion on this, as everyone seems very knowledgeable on these boards.

Thanks,
Ibe

i would say anything over 600 i assume, since my own credit history is pretty bad in itself (6 PIF COs in the past year), but i think those scores only apply to the delta, hh, and starwood, from what have been posted throughout the forums.

-ibe

i was already approved for the skymiles earlier, but its the pesky FRs that I don't want to push my luck into, so all that is left is starwoods, but i usually like to avoid confrontation whenever possible, so i'll wait it out a bit i guess

whats my chances of being approved if i call up amex and do a recon with an underwriter? again, i would like to avoid any chances of an F/R, as I included my spouses income (our mailing addresses are different), which technically isnt a HHI, but technically i would consider it a total HHI.

Hi, ibe33333 (is that enough 3s?) Anyway, I'd probably wait it out a bit, if you're worried about the F/R. Amex is shutting a whole lot of people down or reducing credit limits, due to F/R. I heard it rumored that all of the easy, recent, approvals were to acquire a large number of new cardholders they would weed through (with the F/R) after approval.

I couldn't tell you how true it is; but I hear that the review dept. at AmEx has quotas to fill (so many reviews a shift), which well may be why the majority are complaining about rude reps who won't listen to reason.

Congrats on the Skymiles!!! You might want to make a couple of PIF and then call them to ask for a CLI. By then you will have established a bit of history with them. O, and by the way, the apps ask for HHI, but the reviews consider only the applicant's income, if that helps you any?

Have a great day!

:-me
