Comenity is on to me?!

3 of my Comenity cards are now asking me to check a box on the CLI form that I give them permission to access my credit report before I submit a CLI.

Jcrew

Express

I rarely have ever seen this button so not sure what triggers it.

I don't see it on my Jcrew or Express.........I don't have Orbitz. Maybe they just an updated report for you.

I just went and checked on Express, Limited and VS. No such box. And I click the luv button like twice a month.

I wonder what causes this to happen? I push the J Crew button all the time, just checked and no box. Knock on wood..

I have the same message/box on most of my Comenity cards now. I finally took the leap on 3 cards and tried it, no CLI and no HP so far. I think it is just to scare you that a HP is possible. Not sure what triggers it, a only a couple of my Comenity cards don't have the message/box. They appear to be slowing the CLI train.

They are probably just tightening up. Giving out CLIs like candy isn't a good idea for them. We may like it for util and such but business wise it doesn't make sense for them. Hopefully they don't become ridiculously conservative w CLIs, but what can u do? They could certainly stand to tighten up a tad though

I really hope they do tighten up especially by introducing HP for approved store cards. Keep the SP CLI's but limit them to 1 every 4mos like Synch.

Not that I request much of a CLI with them at all but I just checked for the sake of science (3 of my store cards) including J Crew and no box popped for me either.

Credditaddict - it almost sounds like they're catching on to the number of frequent requests you submit for all your Comenity cards?

How long did it take you to obtain 67 cards? I'd love to hit 60s mark and higher!

Oh for the love of... Abuse... Get over it... It's a bank that set policies... Why do people always smack other people down for getting, using, or figuring out the banks systems and workingThat to their advantage... boggles my mind... If the bank had a real issue they would close the holes and change the policies... I don't own the bank I just use the cards.

And to other poster I obtained about 33 cards in 2014 alone.

Not sure I agree with the term abuse. It is obvious that their underwriting is way too broad and understandably so as they command some of the highest interest derived profits in the industry.

Yes, abuse. You figured out something and worked it to your advantage, thats abuse to me. Seems as if the bank does have an issue with what youre doing, theyre closing the holes with this mysterious "box" that shows up for you but not others. So, yeah.......
