Hard time meeting Venture spend

So, my Venture bonus is 40k miles If I spend $3k within 3 months of opening. I was gonna put my rent on there for 3 months and a couple other things. Well, I just got my acct set up at my new apts, and went online to pay my rent, and the only option it gives me is checking or savings. (Sighs).... I specifically asked the leasing agent when I moved in if they took CC as payment, and she said not at the leasing office but they do online. Grrrr

so, I'm not sure how I'll meet the spend now without it. The most I spend a month on everything...rent, cell, util, food, etc...is like $1800, and $864 of that is rent. Any suggestions?? I've asked my parents and brother If they have anything to buy that I can put on my card and they can pay me, but they are doing the same thing! Lol...I'll be able to meet the spend on my new QS, but don't think I'll be able now for the Venture without getting a little debt which I don't want.

I might come close to it by maybe $500-800

I had a similar problem. I bought an iPhone 6 Plus full price without a contract. That got me over the hump. Not sure if you'd fall into that camp but the timing was right on the spending requirement.

I'll need to do this again with my AAdantage card. Sure glad an Apple Watch is coming out!

I buy staples free or penny after rebate paper. Its a great way to spend while getting real rebate checks back. Staples easy rebates are very easy to do and I've never had a problem

At knee....lol, no your post didn't suggest anything. I'm just very cautious because I had a BK7 in August 2013. Not looking to put myself there again. Right now I only spend what I can pay off before the statement cuts on ALL my cards. I'm also trying to prove to my creditors that I'm responsible and can handle all this credit I've been given. I'm scared to be back in the situation again of debt.

If I go out and charge something that's a couple now to meet spend, and carry a balance for a month or two, I don't want to get in the habit of that thinking its ok, and it spiral out of control. Maybe I'm being way too OCD about it, and paranoid, but I'm still vulnerable and don't want to be thinking its ok to carry debt even for a month .

well, you didn't get the card for the sign up bonus, right? you got that for high starting limit. if so, forget about sign up bonus, because if you spend money on stuff you don't need and get into debt for the sake of sign up bonus would be dumb.

When I got the Venture, I was under the impression I could pay my rent online like I was told when I got the new apt a few weeks ago. I wouldn't have any trouble meeting that spend at that point. Now... Take my rent out of that equation... It's really pushing it to find something to help meet spend.

Gift Cards?

$500 Visa Gift cards at a grocery store will cost you $6, and then you can load those onto a bluebird or just use them later as you would cash. Makes things pretty easy without incurring debt.

yeah... sorry to hear that, but venture card doesn't even have 0% apr for certain period of time, right? so spending money on something would be out of question. How about contacting the leasing office and ask them about the internet option, they told you there's credit card option but actually there isn't?
