Amex 3x CLI- How does it work?

I've seen a couple of posts mentioning a 3x CLI with the Amex card. How does that work? If after so many months/ time frame, will they give you a credit limit tripling what you already have? Thanks for any info

You can make your first request 61 days after approval. Subsequent requests must be 180 days apart, even if it's different cards.

Ok, but what does the "3x CLI" part mean? That's great tone able to ask for increase after just 2 mths! I was just approved for the Amex Blue Cash Everyday card, on yesterday. So I'm pretty new dealing with Amex.

Captool keeps telling himself that you have to wait 61 days because he doesn't want to pull the trigger In truth, you can do it immediately after you receive the card

Wow!! That's great!! I haven't received the card yet, but will sure try it once the card arrives!! Is there a luv button, or will I have to speak with a representative? "Three times credit limit increase" is AWESOME!!

Yes there is a button to request online. They don't approve everyone but most people get the limit to 3X without issues. If you don't wait 61 days and they deny you, then you will have to wait 90 days for your next try. This doesn't mean that you have a better chance at 61 days but if they see that you use the card and PIF maybe that will help. I guess it depends if the next SP before the 61 day looks better to them or not.

Ok Goblin, I sure will. The initial limit is $3500, and right before I was approved for it, I applied for the Discover IT card and was approved for $4000!! I am just thrilled, and really wasn't expecting these great initial limits they gave me because all of my other cards have toy limits

As far far as requesting the CLI before the 61 days, we have had some success stories but by far more have reported the policy is still intact.
