Pre Qualif for Credit One= Bad Credit

Ive noticed ppl with good credit on this forum reported dont get offers from Cr 1, and i got my offer 3 months after starting my credit journey. Prior to that " insufficient credit" was a reason for denial on their pre qual site. I dont know what to think now-count their pre approval as a good, or a negative sign?) Sorry, my question my sound foolish in a way, but im really a little confused now

Dude, Almost everyone that's had nonexistent to bad credit get kindling for the fireplace in the mail.

If I hadn't burnt them 7 years ago, I'd be getting their garbage in my mail too. Just ignore them and keep working at it! Credit takes time to cultivate.

Actually going to chime in here. I have "excellent" credit by the industry standards and while it has been quite some time since I received a Credit One offer, I still get First Premier all the time informing me that I am elgible for a great offer of up to $1500 from them.

Credit One and First Premier are known to solicit individuals after they have applied to cards (whether approved or denied) as well to strike while the first is hot.

I don't really think it is a "good sign or a bad sign" getting a pre qual from them. Just stay on the right path and those offers will start coming in before you know it! Good luck on your credit journey!

Exactly. I guess what I was trying to say in my earlier post is that it is ambigious if you get a PQ from them or not. Just don't accept it. The CL is next to worthless and there is less than zero benefit to this creditor. All they will do is suck your hard earned money up for doing what others will happily do for no actual expense to you should you not carry a balance.
