Discover is confusing

they have chat in the iPhone app. But couldn't get on apple pay from day one. I'm generally confused and annoyed right now.

Anyone else agree with me?

apple pay is still an pretty new service so it will take time to get everybody on board i suppose. Having cards work with apple pay i don't think is make or break since only an small minority of people will use apple pay.

I agree with mongstradamus on this one. I don't think Discover is doing any dis-service by not being on board just yet. Not all retailers are accepting contact less payments just yet - I'm sure that will change soon enough though. Don't lose faith in Discover - they'll get there eventually

I'm more surprised that EMV transactions aren't as widespread yet. I just finally did my first at Sams Club this afternoon with my World MasterCard. It was an interesting first experience!

Its going to be a very long time before you can use apple pay exclusively. If ever. So, its not a big deal IMO.

With regard to EMV I think its like anything else. People dislike change. We've been swiping cards for a long time. Especially older people will be annoyed having to "learn" a new thing.

Is the Discover Chrome your only CC? if so, yeah, if you wanted to try out Apple Pay, will be a while waiting for Discover.

Depending on scores you could get a CapOne, AMEX, or BofA and those would work in your iPhone 6.

Just remember: Apple Pay only allows 8 cards in the phone at one time, so limit your app spree to less than that

I have cards on apple pay. But just not my main credit card. It's annoying. Look at my sig. I'm doing well so far. I apped to early got destroyed. DC And giants Barclays decline.

Hopefully by May I have a freedom prequel and that becomes my main card.

Not really. Discover's been around alot longer than applepay and I don't and won't have applepay. Still enjoy getting my cashback the old fashioned way.

Yeah, as said Discover doesn't work with Apple Pay yet. They released a statement before the holidays that they plan on working out integration "soon" so maybe it'll be in the next few months.

I have had my debit card on Apple Pay since the day they activated it on iOS 8 but haven't had the occasion to use it yet. So really, there's not a ton to be missed yet. I'll probably add my Cap One card to Apple Pay just because but will most likely continue to not use it until it becomes a little more universal (Mickey-Ds and Walgreens take it but not a whole lot else near me). I will say I have used Apple Pay for web purchases in apps (Target most recently) - that's handy to just use the ol' thumb print.

another problem is an lot of retailers turned off emv on the machines so you can't even use it if you wanted to.

You haven't gone to McDonalds just to use the Apple Pay???

I was with my dad at McD last Saturday, and he tried to buy our lunch by swiping his credit card. I pushed his hand out of the way and explained that I had to HAD TO use my iPhone because I don't get many chances to use Apple Pay.

Can't have mcdonalds i am jewish. Anyhow discover confirmed apple pay is priority and they will be on it long before samsung pay which was just announced and not even released yet.

well for the record discover is on google wallet, so almost any android phone made in last 2 or 3 years has it already. I think that would probably be an better comparison. I have used google wallet to pay at cvs with my discover card before cvs nixed nfc payments when apple pay was announced.

I am not making this an apple vs android thing i am just saying that discover is on google wallet that is all. Just give apple and discover time to work things out,
