Montgomery Ward Credit Card

I am trying to rebuild my credit and have Montgomery Ward Credit acct, however am not seeing it on my report. Can anyone tell me if they have this account and if it reports on their credit?

how long have you had it? it might be a hidden tradeline where it will report only when you default on it

Wards is an online/catalog service now. I think its owned by the company that also owns Swiss Colony and a slew of other online/catalog stores. I have their card, but it doesn't report (unless you default or miss payments). You can get credit line increases by using it a few times and paying it off.

I'd try Fingerhut first, that does report.

They do not report, Neither does Stoneberry or Massey's.

The original company went out of business about 15 years ago. A direct marketing company bought up the trademarks to use, due the built-in brand recognition.

As far as the catalog company's retail card, I don't know much about it.

Be careful if you decide to purchase something. I have aCounty Door account (a part of the same company that does Montgomery Ward/Ginny's/Midnight Velvet/Swiss Colony and others) and they do a hard pull on your credit when you place an order, even though you have a given credit limit. I was furious when I found out, and I really like some of their items so it was disappointing. I wrote them, but they said they have the right to do that, as they are extending you credit. BS I say, but they never removed the hard pull from my record, and I never ordered/ and will never order from them again.

Monkey Ward's was one of my first credit cards back in the late 1970's. Used it to buy a Panasonic Omnivision 6 VCR for $950.

I have a country door and I never ever got a HP and I got it in October 2014. Midnight velvet as well never a HP.

Nope not true. I have stoneberry masseys midnight velvet and country door. All don't report and no HP. Obviously everyone's MMV but never a HP for me. They SP me and sent me the preapproval catalog.

I am 99% sure that is incorrect. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I have read that no credit issuer is allowed to HP your account without prior consent. This is why the luv button typically states that this MAY result in a HP. By clicking the button, you agree to the T&C.
