Easy/hard card to acquire?

Do you shop a lot on Ebates?

First question. Yes. Got a temp limit of $1k, but the actual limit was $5k for mine.

I haven't gotten a single CLI for this card though since I got it and have tried multiple times for one so now I'm just waiting on some auto from them.

Not too difficult IMO if you have a good TU score and everything

Pros: Being able to get more cashback at their Ebates portal and things like that

Cons: High APR

Honestly not as much as I thought but the card still makes for a good utilization buffer for me and it's a Visa card I can use nearly anywhere.

Is agree with popamodes assessment. I was given a temp $750 limit, card came with $4500 actual limit, Credit Solutions bumped it to $10k all about 1 year ago. I have pretty high total exposure with Synchrony but I got instant approved with a TU 771. I love Ebates, even if I have an issue they always resolve it quickly. This is one of Sunchronys better cards.

What is ebates good for? It always seems to offer lower rebates than the competitors for the stuff I buy, but I assume it must win on some things. Or not!

because they have commercials on tv? ebates is the only online rebate website commercials i've seen. but then again, i don't watch tv much these days.

I have had good payback through ebates with the addition of the ebates card, since it adds 3% to any cashback.

Ebates cash back is not always the same. They run near daily bonuses. I got a 16% cash back on Macy's recently. Obviously the card is always 3% but the portal itself constantly offers different amount of bonuses.

Isn't upromise gives more cash back and upromise.com usually higher cash back than Ebates?

Ebates pulled Experian the first time I applied but since I have Experian Frozen my app was declined. I called under writing and tried to get them to pull TU but they wouldn't. I tried again around Thanksgiving and they pulled TU this time and it was instantly approved.

Temp limit was 1k. Came in the mail and it was 5k. I got an auto CLI to $15k the following month.

They have put holds on my first three payments. I pay in full each month.

I'm going to hit the credit limit increase button in June.

My score on TU at the time was 719 with bankruptcy reporting. I got the bankruptcy off of my credit reports so I'm anexious to see what they will raise me to with it. off.

Oh and I got an ebates check already for $132.00. So it does eally give you cash back.

That's a nice chunk of change considering it's not a signup bonus.

I shopped at Ebates maybe once. A Visa is a Visa though and I'd definitely use it more if I got this card.

I suggest always checking cashbackmonitor.com first. Another site + any 1.5%+ card will often beat the ebates rate + their 3% card. Of course, bonuses can change that but other sites have specials too, But really all about which merchant you are using, hence doing the cashbacknonitor.com search first.

totally agree.. usually discover deal + a 2% card is better than ebates + 3%.. or upromise + 5% upromise card beats most other sites/ways..

I agree here too, and would add the SavingStar card is up there with Upromise also (also 5%)

The only somewhat attractive deal I see with the Ebates CC is for AGCs. 3.7% back with the Arrival and TCB, or 4% back with the Ebates CC and Ebates portal. But since TCB runs 2.25% specials all the time, you're better off waiting. (And the Discover Miles card + TCB would be even better even at the normal 1.5% rate, assuming Discover gives you a cash advance CL high enough, since AGC purchases on Discover reportedly appear as CAs before posting as purchases.)
