Arrival+ Version Question

Hi all,

I think I'm going to pull the trigger on a second Barclay card. I want to perhaps try for the Arrival+, but I really want the WEMC version - don't want to get stuck with the Platinum or the WMC.

I know that nobody knows the true criteria for this, but with a 700 TU score, income about 90-100K, and 4 years old SL baddies, should I get the WEMC? Do we have any data points to look at this? I will use those benefits.

Or should I just try for a second Sallie Mae card? The one I have is 14 months old with a CL of $2300, but it is the Platinum version.

I was just approved for this yesterday. 730 tu score, a couple late payment 3-5 yrs ago, 8 inquiries...approved for 5k and I was just approved for 8k on Amex BCP the day before. Not sure if that helps at all but that's my experience

I think I'll probably get approved - what I'm wondering is what version will I get: the World Elite MC, the World MC, or the Platinum. That's what I really want to know.

No one on here can tell you for sure which version you would qualify for. Given that there are various data points floating around, it's all going to be based on their lending criteria and your overall profile. Only way to know for sure if when you apply. Not getting approved for WMC or WEMC should not be the end of the world - although for some people it might be.

To my knowledge, there is no World Elite Sallie Mae. It's just WMC or Platinum. (I know you are talking about Arrival+ but your original post alludes toward Sallie Mae so I want to point out there is no Elite version available, no matter what your limit).

As far as data points, no one can tell you for sure. We've seen $1k WEMC and $5k platinums.

I agree it really shouldn't be the end of the world no matter what (I am assuming you'll benefit from the card's actual benefits beyond WEMC!), but I guess if you plan to use the WEMC benefits, it could be important. Regardless, there's no way to tell you for sure unless you were applying for a strictly WEMC product like Capital One's GMC card.

I had no idea there was a possibility of getting approved for anything other than a wemc. I applied for a arrival+ wemc and figured I would either be approved or denied for a wemc. If I wanted a wmc I would have applied for the no annual fee option.

When i applied and was approved i called
To see if it was a wemc and was told that they only issued it in that version.

I wasn't aware that the Arrival+ (Arrival Plus) came in anything other than a WEMC. In fact, I really don't think it does. The no-fee Arrival (plain Arrival, not Plus) comes in WMC and regular... but that's a different card, and a different application. You either qualify for the WEMC, or you don't get the card at all.

Arrival plus only comes in WEMC. My initial CL is $4,000 but it's still WEMC.
