Is somebody following me

Since I started rebuilding a couple of years ago I have spent a lot of time on this site. I spend an hour or more everyday here reading and learning and visiting credit card sites. Recently, I have noticed when I go to other sites or just browsing I get a lot of credit card ads on the sites. I can't recall specifically which ones but I was just wondering if this has happened or is happening to anyone else. They may have always been there and I just noticed it but I don't think so.

I noticed the same thing as well, (ads pretaining to credit card offers) but not until about a month ago.....more so when I'm on FaceBook then anything else.

Just go to the Visa Black Card page and you won't have to worry about all those credit card issuers following you.

Only VISA Black will show up for quite some time, they will buy ahead of everyone to get in your cookies.

Because of this forum, I was getting hounded with credit card adds, but thanks to a wedding venue website link my friend sent, now I get credit card adds and wedding venues adds. Awesome 😒

It's called google Adwords, and it follows you everywhere, ti why I am logged into google account for searching, and turn ads off.

They even follow me to my stock analyst's web site. OMGZ, they are everywhere,

Adblock Plus is a free browser extension that will eliminate ads, tracking cookies, etc.

Personally, I use Firefox as my browser and have Adblock Plus, NoScript (Java Script blocking) and Ghostery (use only with Firefox, contains Ad bomb with other browsers).

I see NO ads.

I have AdBlock Plus on Firefox with all the subscriptions selected and it didn't do anything about eliminating the credit card ad banner here. I added custom rules for /SavingsCenter/ and such which hid the ad but now the top of the screen is messed up and I can't see my inbox icon or the sign out link.

I'd be interested in hearing what other folks are using for their AdBlock+ rules.

I do use abp on my laptop but not on my phone, and I tend to use my phone more than my laptop (and run on desktop mode).

I love tracking cookies. I'd much rather see ads that have some small chance of interesting me than just random crap.

Same, though I oscillate with chrome on laptop for development. I use my iPad Safari for the forums, no abp. But I have all the bells and whistles on my laptop with Firefox (which reminds me, sometime I should shut it down, getting dusty from lack if use ).

+1 Adblock works great and you can add it to Chrome

The ads -- and not just for credit cards -- have always been there. You've just happened to notice them now for some reason.
