who doesn't love free money and discover?

long story short. I am new two this minus balance thing, had them send it via two different ways. I was charged for one of them, and had to send it back. i woke up this morning to account balance of minus 209. IT WAS LIGIT MONEY!!! free money in the morning is awesome.

I think both your payments processed and that is why your account is showing extra money.

+1. I would use the chat feature to find out, otherwise you might find the money gets rescinded and you end up owing.

no, i had a minus balance on my account. They sent me it twice once via direct deposit and then check. So i had to send back the check. They got back the check a few a days ago.

this morning i woke up to a minus balance of 209 and it happens to be true its fair game money. So i transfered it back to my checking accoun this morning.

Op has a negative balance, ask for refund.
discover made a direct deposit to his checking account AND sent a check to him, being a good boy he send the check back to discover, after discover got the check, they credit his account again for the check amount, and told him it is a legit transaction.

And this may be detected at some point and charged back. Or not.

It probably won't be detected nor reversed. Sometimes things just happen. And when they do I say enjoy it. Congrats OP.

In my opinion, that could still be considered fraud. Knowingly accepting money that isn't your is illegal. If a bank accidently adds a 0 to a deposit, say 100 goes to 1000, even if you tell them, and they say it is legit, it would still be fraud, because you know it isn't correct. Not saying that is the case here, but it definitely appears that way to me. Besides, it's just wrong.

Quite a few don't love Discover. Why does it matter though? Each needs to use whatever works for the individual.
