CCUC Escapee Rehab Club

Did you check in to the Concorduser Center only to be tempted by a pre-approval offer dangled before you via the U.S. Mail or by a shiny new card you found online while wandering the internet in the wee hours and give in to an app-craving, breaking out of the CCUC before your stated no-app deadline?

Need a place to get back on the no-app wagon?

This time do you REALLY MEAN IT, when you say you want/need to be app-free until a certain point in time?

Well, then, come join the CCUC Escapee Rehab Club!

This Club is for the clay-footed souls who broke out of the CCUC for one excuse or another in a must-app-for-that-card-now frenzy and need to enter app rehab and start all over again on maintaining app-free status for a certain while.

Club Motto: Remember what you REALLY want?!

(thanks to Matt H over on the Smorgasboard for posting that excellent saying; anyone who knows the author of that quote, please let me know so I can give credit)

Exception: Mods are NOT allowed to check in - visiting privileges or temp/part-time jobs as bartenders, lifeguards, servers, games referees, bouncers, etc., only, for Mods - sign in or fill out a job application at the ~~front desk~~ bar and get your Pass or Job Assignment before entering the Inner Sanctum (aka The Lounge/Pool/Bar/Gameroom), and only former CCUC residents are allowed to check in The Club - anyone needing to do a first-time app-free stint should join the CCUC (a much classier place than this - this joint's gonna be more like a zoo or a drunken luau, I suspect: http://ficoforums.myfico.com/fico/board/crawl_message?board.id=creditcard&message.id=68661 ).

Exception to the exception: Her Benevolent Wisdom, HTSU, may come and go as she pleases, should she deign to honor us with her presence (yes, I'm borrowing shamelessly from Heinlein, there).

Visitors are MORE than welcome, so come on in!

I truly do want this thread - for all its silliness at times - to also be about remembering what we really want in our lives, helping each other remember those things, and to help keep us from shooting ourselves in our respective feet with app-craziness or other silly cc mistakes that are so easy to make, so we do offer Outpatient Services and Support for Visitors!

So if you ARE having an itchy trigger-finger, do come on in and distract yourself with some laughs and remind yourself why you shouldn't app, what your real goals for yourself and your life are!

Bad influences will be dealt with and punishment determined on a case-by-case basis.

FICOtinis of course are a specialty of the house, but we need some new drinks - I'm creating the FICOrita and the FICOpolitan. Drink at your own risk.

If you check in to The Club, then sneak out before your originally-claimed deadline for remaining app-free, you will be banned from The Club until after that originally-claimed deadline or for at least one month, whichever is longer.

We're open for business!

*sigh* Complaints already?! And I tried so hard to rig it so everybody'd be happy.

I thought Mods'd LIKE having visiting/job privileges, rather than only the check-in option. I kinda hoped you'd be Head of Security - keep out the bad-influence riff-raff. Or at least keep an eye on 'em, when they're here.

Hmmm...you do have a point. May have to revise things to arrange for outpatient treatment for Mods, not just visiting privileges or jobs around The Club.

Are you visiting, then Ms. Miah? Or did you head back to the CCUC?

i have concocted the following FICOcane, fuzzyFICO,FICO on the beach, FICO and coke, and FICOmaker.

since i have an intent to app navy as soon as i get my contractor id i ain't commiting to any 12 step programs just yet.

Was just visiting. I have knocked out a couple of walls over at the CCUC and I am installing a Roman Bathtub with Columns and jets. The drinks aren't as good over there, but I have lots of room, and I think I will be there indefinitely. Scores are not moving. And I didn't give myself a time limit I gave myself a specific score!

Always glad to have a visitor from the CCUC - you'll class up this place a bit. So will Sir Timothy, if I can persuade him to come back by.

Glad to hear you're taking advantage of all the post-escapes room over there to do some remodeling and upgrading!

Go grab one of those interesting new drinks Ducky's come up with and have a seat by the pool, rest your poor tired feet for a bit. Or in the jacuzzi. Or wherever it suits you. And if you're extra sweet to him, I'm sure he'd fix you a drink 'to go' when your break's over and it's time to head back to the CCUC and your remodeling.

Hoping some other escapee mods will wander in - I think Cheddar might make a good bartender (although Ducky sounds like he'll make a good unofficial bartender, whenever he's about).

And Ms. Peas, too - Games Referee and Lifeguard, I'm thinkin', if she wants to do something besides just hang out as a visitor.

Yeah, I like my new space and I am thinking of decorating in a nice Italian theme, marble everywhere! It should do nicely as a few cards will celebrate two year birthdays before the end of this year! We shall see. I want some more points...looks like age is all I have for the moment!

Hey Ducky can I get a Fuzzy Fico or a Fico on the Beach? How about a FicoSaver?

My visitors pass is about to expire!

But the suite for the Chief of Security is pretty awesome - as a former security guard, I made sure of that! Go have a look - it's open. Can I talk you into being our Guardian at the Gate, when you're not keeping an eye on your residents at the Center?

Nope - mods not allowed to check in; though the rules here aren't as tough as the CCUC about having clay feet, everybody missed the mods so much when they broke out of the Center that I tried to set this place up such that even if y'all cave in to app temptation again, you could still post here.

App away - just no talking about it here at The Club, if you do! Gotta do your bit to help keep the residents faithful to their app rehab. We only talk about NOT apping, here!

I'm checking in..........................I apped for an old navy card after I checked into the concord user center.

My realistic goal right now is app-free until December 1st 2008. (smaller time frames will make me feel better than if I were to say September 2010, lol).

Can I have a Fico on the beach please and a Kingsize bed,lol.

Goodness, FICO on the Beach THIS early?

Then again, it IS Monday - guess I don't blame ya. I haven't seen Ducky yet this morning, and we don't have an official bartender yet either. I'll give the drink mixing a try, unless you know Ducky's recipe and want to mix it yourself.
