I don't have plans to get this card by any means, but if you've burned them in the past, do they blacklist? Just wondering in case I ever need one years and years down the road lol

IIRC, they do blacklist. How long that blacklist last is anyone's guess. Some individuals are able to re-establish their relationship while others simply move on. For Target-specific financial products, there's alternatives - Target REDBird Prepaid Card or the Target Debit Card.

I see a lot about the prepaid REDcard ("redbird") but it should be noted that the card is not available nationwide. In fact, its availability is very, very limited at this time.

Im not sure of the blacklist but why not get the red debit card? Just link it to your bank account and get 5% off plus free shipping probably one of the best deals out there.

Not a problem. All you have to do is bring a check into target and the cashier will take care of the rest. No hard pull.

There are quite a few people selling them for a fairly reasonable fee online. If you get the code from a temporary card online, you can register it and they mail you the permanent card.

It's a great way get some rewards points while shopping at Target, get the 5% discount, and get some free bill pay done.

Just use it reasonably, and don't go crazy like lots of churners are, and I don't think any CC companies would get angry.

Prices have come down quite a lot!

It is slowly moving into other states, rumors of nationwide rollout later in the year.

OK, and following the "capital one ceo email" and "credit pull database" precedents, may I suggest searching

"target unregistered redbird for sale" to find such sites.

FYI, I burned them 10+ years ago and I applied last year and got in for $300 and after two months auto CLI to $800. It's possible.

If you Google "Redcard Resales", they are now offering the Target Prepaid REDcard online for folks in states where it isn't available. Looks like a very legitimate website.

Eh, I'll wait until it shows up in the home state rather than paying someone 3-4x or more what Target will charge me (if anything - some stores give them out for free). But I still felt it important to note to people trying to rush out to Target that it may not be there like that for them.

My point wasn't to say there is some work around, it's that in most locations someone can't just walk in and get one.

Just bought one and received my registration instructions, card number, and activation code instantaneously. I was able to register online and my permanent card is on the way. Everything seems to be in order.
