I recently called and spoke to an underwriter To attempt to get an increase, my card is 400 limit and I was looking to get it up to 1000. Now I'm running a high utilization on it currently, I'm just wondering if my balance needs to be paid down before I try again. I was denied of course. I have only 3 statements on this card so far

What number did you call? I recently got approved on my Walmart and Amazon card to $3k and $3.5K and my limits were $700 (Walmart to 3.5K) and $900 (Amazon to $3K) that's all I asked for and was approved for both. I also has a balance on my Amazon card when I asked for the CLI they didn't say anything about the balance. All they said was that I had a balance and asked if the amount I was asking for was still going to accommodate me since I had a balance.

Depending on the number you called I could give you a different number to call (if it's not the same number) to ask. This number has been great for a lot of people.

Also my Amazon limit was $900 with a $235 balance when I called and requested a increase to 3K. So I had a balance of about 26% when I called and was approved to a increase to $3K if it's a little high and after u try calling again with a different person that also tells you No then maybe pay it a little amd try again.
