Let it go. You apped for a card without thinking through the implications. It's a learning opportunity.

You may or may not get a credit card.

You may or may not use the CC.

After a year, presuming you got the CC today, you may decide to close it. Or, go for another low cost flight on Spirit.

As with all things credit, it is best to take the night off, think about it a few days from now, before making any rash decisions.

The spur of the moment decision you made on the flight got you in this, I wouldn't call it a Situation, it's a Thinking Moment. There's no rush to try to get out (and potentially waste effort or bolox something else up when you can't get your CB unfrozen).

(and I think it is highly doubtful any freezing of reports will respond fast enough to prevent the app)

[and as always, HP fade fast anyway. It's not like they charged you $50 to submit the app]

I wouldn't fly Spirit Airlines again if the tickets were $10 and included a back massage. Seriously, it's like a coin operated airline with some of the worst policies and customer service I've ever seen. The seats are atrocious if you're tall and they charge for everything. Surprised they don't charge for air and to use the bathroom. My mantra is friends don't let friends fly Spirit. I'd seriously rather ride a camel.

That said, OP just SD the card and use it as a learning experience.

Thats why Bofa couldnt locate it in their systems. A friend of mine told me it took as long as 4 to 6 weeks for Spirit to get the information to Bofa. Once they have it in their system, you can call Bofa and cancel the card. However, I dont think there is anyway to stop the inquiry. I hope that helps

I have never flown spirit airlines. What is so bad about them aren't they 737's? or they nickel and dime you for everything and packed liked sardines, being less leg room then SWA? I love SWA, but not persay the leg room for shorer flights
