Barclay Card Pre-Screening offers every week

Hello everyone. I have a question and I thought I'd ask it here - I've been receiving pre-screened credit offers from Barclays literally every week. Last week, I even received 2 of them in the mail on the same day. I've never seen a credit card company be so "persisitent" if you will about these offers. I was just wondering if this is normal? I know pre-screenings aren't guaranteed approvals, but I'm wondering how likely it would be for me to be approved since they're sending them to me so often. For reference, my TransUnion score right now is 641, Equifax is 665 (according to Credit Karma). The card doesn't appear to have a name, but it's a mastercard where you earn 2% cash back rewards, $0 annual fee and 0% APR for the first year (22.99% thereafter). Just wondering if anyone has any insight on this. Thank you.

I'd pull your TU to see if they're softing you, which they very well could be. My wife gets Cap1 offers on a weekly basis, she has a SP from them for every week for the last year and a half lol. In case you're curious I got instant approval on Barclays Apple Visa Financing card for $2000. My TU is listed below, and I have quite a few baddies reporting.

My mother used to get Chase pre-screen offers 2-3 times a week, and the Visa Black card (Barclay) about once a month, so yeah, I'd say it's fairly common if you haven't opted out and your scores qualify you.

I'm not so sure why they quit mailing her, she never opted out... it may be because she just got finished getting a new mortgage and her Sam's Club Mastercard is only about 8 months old so maybe she has "too many inquiries" heh.

I could see Barclays complaining about their own inquiry they just ran for a new card as "too many" if it was the only one

Citibank would send me offers every other day for months. Finally I broke down and applied, since they were so persistent. Had to be a sure thing, right? DENIED.

The offers promptly stopped coming in the mail. I then had to use other things to start fires, which was the worst part besides the HP.

Oh gosh, Oz are they that bad? lol. I think I'll just hold off for now.. thanks for everyone's input. It's so tempting for me, but I think I need to work on getting my score up and getting some of these more recent cards paid off before I apply for anything else.

Talk about irony, I open the mailbox today, sure enough a Barclay offer for the wife, along with a Home Depot for each of us, and a whopping $700 on First Premier for me lol

I just looked at my TransUnion (or so I thought) a few weeks ago and I saw soft pulls from Barclays, but it wasn't nearly as frequent as what I've been receiving.. the last one was from sometime in 2014.

It's probably the Barclarycard Rewards card, which gives 2% cash back on grocery and utilities purchases.

I've had it for around a year, and in my book it's a great card.

Your credit scores are in the ballpark for it; I think you're likely to get approved.
