If I were to opt-in for pre-screened offers, could that make my credit score go down? I had opted out because I was told if I opted out that my credit score would increase 10 points.

Yep that's what she told me. She's a Mortage Consultant with a bank.

It's a myth. Opting out has zero effect on credit scores.

Hardly.

I opted out a few years ago due to id theft. Just wanted to be a step ahead in case of any lost or wrongly delivered mail. Cant say I miss receiving all that junk mail.

I opted out awhile ago and opted back in like a couple of months ago. It seems that the opt-in doesn't work like it should. I can never get a pre-qual on any site to work, never have anything come up for me.
