Club Carlson Rewards Visa Signature Card

Anybody have any experience with this card? I got a preapproval from them today but am very hesitant to app since this is a US Bank card, never been able to get in with them and have no offers from their site. I know co-branded cards may not show up but I get nothing. What kind of credit lines does this card have........I have a ton of inquiries on Ex and FICO 740.......I am afraid the inq may spook them, yet I just got a 20K Amex who pulled Ex. Any experience or insight is greatly appreciated.

I have been getting pre-approvals too but too scared to get downgraded to the regular version which I definitely do not want, so I never took the chance and shredded the offers. I do not like to apply for "gost" cards where the lender can issue whatever they like and much rather get declined than aproved for a card that I do not want. Do you have ARS and IDA frozen?

Definitely do not want a lower tier card.........I don't have ARS nor IDA frozen as I have heard of them as a CRA but not familiar with them. Can I see or monitor their reports.

Freeze those before you even think about applying for this card... You can do alot of searches to find out the results of diong so and not doing so.

Freeze them. I had tons of inquiries and applied for the Cash +. Denied. A month later and freezing ARS and IDA, I applied and was approved for $5000 and visa signature. Go figure.

Getting this card sounds complicated; will probably just wait. I logged on an put in the confirmation code......did not show the terms and apr like the paperwork did.

US Bank loves me.
gave me cash+ 3 years ago for 12K, my first 5 digits auto approval 50% above my average CL.
gave me Club Carlson Premier 6 month ago for 15K, 50% above avg again.
non of these instant tho,they take their sweet 3 working days to give me approval.
I did not freeze ARS/IDA either.
No previous banking relationship either.
My CS is stronger, about 760 3 years ago, around 800 now.

always cold apply, only thing they preapprove me is debit card.

I have both Personal and Business versions of this card. One of the more underrated bonuses in my opinion. Yeah US Bank has that annoying bait and switch thing but it took me 3 apps to finally get the Personal version (which I was never pre approved for). My ARS/IDA are frozen and US Bank seems to pull either EX or TU for me. Fico scores ranged from 760-780 at the time, no negs, 6% util, and 4 inq on TU. It has a good annual bonus and its a low AF for a free night. Downside - limited global Hotel network. For example, no properties in Hawaii.

Called the app status number today and was given recording that app was denied and was given opportunity to speak to credit analyst and he told me that even though I got denied online the app was still under review. Is this the norm for US Bank or a new trick of the analysts to get recons off the line

That's pretty standard US Bank application procedure. The automated line isn't usually accurate. I've had it tell me no record of app, then a card shows up 10 days later.

I wish I would have mentioned this sooner, but Their Kroger card seems to be one of the easier approvals. US Bank seems to think Club Carlson is their flagship card.

Uh oh that may do me in......but they did send me an offer.........guess I'll just mope thru this.

I had apped for this card and got the 7-10 day message. Then when i called the recorded line it said i was denied. Then they sent the Card and i was approved for the AF version. Was a good surprise but strange after it said i was denied.

Hopefully it will turn out to be a good result. Yeah definitely freeze ARS or IDA frozen - not a requirement though. Also, US bank seems to like you having banking relationship with them.

Good luck. Hope you will get the Premier version. I decided to app with a negative remark on ARS and was ready to freeze these reports if US Bank would be a denial but it has worked out for me to get in ..not the card I wanted but I had to find a detour to Cash+ as phone app was not accepted because of zip. So now waiting to PC.

this is another lesson learned from the Great Forum........I HAVE to learn more about ARS and IDA. How long does it take before the final decision from USB.....is the 7-10 letter the final decision point?

For the app took 3 business days until the app status line came back with a congratulations. The card took about 7 - 10 days to arrive. But right after my app the status line was under review during the first 3 days.

For Innovis, IDA and ARS you can order a free copy and might be surprised what kind of data these CRAs are collecting....especially ARS was a surprise to me with wrong info not mentioned anywhere else. I first thought I would let them remove the info for inaccuracy but decided to simply freeze in case it turns out to be negative for my app with US Bank. Way too much hassle to have them remove info as it was already a hassle to get a copy of my report without a US issued ID!

You would write to them and ask that they be frozen.
