They should update if you previously had a balance and paid it off. In my experience though (Victoria's Secret, Avenue, and previously Dots, they don't report at the statement cut date. I'm not sure of the date exactly but mine aren't at statement cut. I had a 0 balance at statement cut before and went shopping like a week later and they reported that balance for the month.

I paid my J. Crew/Comenity Bank card down to zero, but so far I'm not seeing that reflected on my credit reports. The statement date is the 15th, so five days ago. Does anyone know if Comenity doesn't report to the CRAs if the cardholder's balance is $0.00?

Comenity does state the following on my account page: "Below are all billing statements generated in the past 12 months. No billing statements are shown for months with a zero balance". The last statement listed is for February. Nothing for March because I had a zero balance.

Surely I don't have to carry a $1.00 balance to get Comenity to update the CRAs, or do I?

If the balance was 0 last month and you used the card then paid the balance to 0 prior to statement cut then they may not update the CRAs with some of their accounts. Its this way with my FRN. For these accounts you would want to let a balance report every 3 months or so so the TL gets updated and shows as current, you have to leave a balance of I would say at least $5.00 otherwise they will write it off as a small balance and the account will be at 0 so no update.

I believe that if you last statement had a balance and you've since paid it down to $0, Comenity will update it, but it is ~5 days later than usual. I read that on another thread on this board, but I can't find it.

I'm in the same boat as you, waiting for them to update 2 accounts.

FYI today Jcrew, Loft and A&F updated for me. It is past the statement date (a week past?) and before the payment due date which is June 5th. Only updated on EX and EQ though, TU is always slower. I had to make a purchase and not pay it when I received the statement in order for it to update. Will pay it now...before the due date.
