Question about Disney Chase card

Good morning guys,

As I have progressively learned about credit and how to repair/build mine myself and while bragging to my brother he acted like he didn't care and he said that he has bad bad credit and didn't know what to do.. (Made my day) And I said hey let's pull up CreditKarma and see where you stand. Well not too bad with a 617 EQ and TU 624. He has 3 open collections low amounts 200/ea. and he has 0 CC or loans but what's keeping his score up he's AU on a DIsney Chase(Wife's) from 2011 with 100% pmts but.... The CL is 700 oweing 630. (BAD). So I told him he needs to dispute those collections or PFD then get that UTL& down and then request a CLI. Am I going in the right direction for a Disney Chase? He's been paying the MIN and never getting ahead and I explained how Credit works and that he need's to only use 10% of your total limits and try to PIF every month.. If you would have done that to begin with it would be over 5k limit in 4 yrs. He was surprised.. But I don't have a Chase and wanted to make sure that I'm heading him in the right direction and what do you think he should ask for or just try the love button?

Personally, despite putting quite a lot of spend on the card, I've never gotten an auto CLI from Chase on my Disney card. I did call early this year and finally asked what was available and received a CLI with no hard pull, but I got nothing until I asked, FWIW.

Is there a love button on the Chase site when you login, and if so have you ever hit it?

No luv button on Chase site. DH has had his Disney card for probably close to 2 years and did not get an increase until he got some auto luv few weeks ago.

Thanks!!! Ok I will tell him to lower the UTL and call them for a CLI...

you got it, easy-clean the reports, pay disney down to $1 and with their low inquiries (i'm guessing)... let the apping begin!! woooohoooooo!!

@Anonymous he has 0 Inq until last night I had Him app for a Cap1 and was approved for 300.00 QS1, and since our dad and grandfather was in the USAF we are both qualified for NFCU so I joined him up with my access # and he now has a NFCU acct and was approved for nRewards 7,500 @Anonymous.74 + prime. So now he has 2 INQ on his reports but we are stopping there until he get's them baddies off and then he will be ready for a spree..

I also told him to come sign up here at myFICO and start reading and understanding how Credit works, and that HE himself is the only one that can change that.. He almost fell out when he was approved for 7,500. I bet 6k and I lost.. lol

My wife got auto luv of $2500 about a year after she got the card and has been sitting at $7500 since. This is her only card besides BestBuy and Kohl's. I may haver her try the SM route and inquire about a SP.

Hmm...well, I was into 5-figures with Chase Disney prior to the CLI, but they upped it another $10k when I inquired, so no complaints. Yes, I had to ask, but when I did they really stepped up.

SP - specified no hard pull when I inquired. CSR sounded doubtful but when she checked she asked if an additional $10k would be sufficient.
