Citi Prestige New Design Coming..?

So I just got the Prestige a couple months ago and have hated using it with the current design. I always have to explain how to swipe it and if I just give it to a waiter or someone, it always shows manual entry on my reciept. I called them to complain about the poor card design about a week ago and they told me that they had received a lot of complaints and are currently addressing the problem and will be sending a new card very soon. Has anyone else heard this? Anyone actually received the new design?

I actually love the new design of the Citi Card. My only gripe is I wish that it was metal.

You haven't had issues with the magnetic strip location? I literally have not used it once where it didn't cause an issue.

Unless the CSR lied to me, it's definitely true. I just don't know when and how they will change the card. Anyone else speak to Citi and get a different response?

I actually like the card's design. It makes the card different,stand out, and then whoever swipe them will have to look at the word Prestige twice,lol!My only wish is citi starts making Metal Prestige card

After spending close to a full minute explaining to the lady in the McDonald's drive-thru how to swipe my Citi Prestige, I got on the phone to Citi to complain. I calmly explained that I like the card a lot, but I also have an Amex Platinum and CSP that I might prefer to use instead because they aren't so inconvenient, The c/s rep indicated he had heard it before and said the "new" card design will be coming in mid-April. I aked how it would be diffefent and was told, " They are going to make the magnetic stripe darker so that it is more obvious." I was invited to call in a few weeks to request my new card. I'm not confident that a darker stripe is really going to make a diffefence, but at least Citi knows it's a problem.

I love the Citi Prestige card design, including the uniqueness of the mag stripe on the front. I just called to express my satisfaction with the design. I think they should offer a second traditional design like CSP does for people that don't want the metal card. The real question is whether Prestige will get the expanded spending categories that Premier is set to get on April 19th.

Metal card? It's plastic...anyone who's held it would know that, so I'm not sure if that means you haven't actually used it or what, but the design is awful. The last thing I need everyday is an extra minutes spent trying to buy something. It literally takes longer every time. No idea why you would have a credit card to get noticed or stand out, just seems pretentious. I'm pretty sure that unless you have palladium/centurion/etc. the clerks see new cards everyday and it will only annoy them, not impress them.

I hope they do more than just darken the strip, but I can see how that might help if it's more readily identifiable. That's probably the main issue-- no one notices that it has a strip anywhere, because the "front" is actually the back and the mag strip is on the bottom front of the card where no one would ever think.

The design is definitely awful. It looks nice, but feels cheap and gets so many scratches everywhere do to the card being swiped incorrectly all the time.

It's unclear but are you talking to me? If so, I was referring to CSP having a metal card by default but it also has a standard embossed plastic version upon request by calling Chase. My point is Citi should or could offer a way for people to get a standarized version of the card if they dislike the redesign. I have never encountered a single issue using my Citi Prestige card anywhere ever. And I think the card is beautifully designed.

I asked the same thing just couple weeks ago and I was told that the reward/benefit structure for citi prestige just changed a couple months ago and there's no plan to match premier at this time. However, the agent did say that she will bring my concern and suggestion to the prestige marketing team.

I can say emphatically that at EVERY transaction, there is confusion as to how to swipe the card and I have to explain it to the person, which makes me feel like a pretentious d-bag.

I just called and the CSR confirms that there will be new cards issued AUTOMATICALLY to all cardholders starting mid-April.

Hopefully, it will help to resolve the issue until mag stripes are made obsolete hopefully later this year.

Can't wait for a new card if the info given about mid April is true.

I was using my old card until the number got stolen and my card got reissued with new number. Ever since then, most of transaction won't go through the first time. At some places, they are smart enough to try the other side. Sometimes, I got handed back the card saying it doesn't work. At the cafeteria of my work place, they have to use the chip to get it to work every single time. I am so tired of it.

The really cool card I had before was the United Club card. It was metal and heavy and everybody who handled it said it's cool. Most people who handled my Citi Prestige said it's weird!

I'm of the opinion that the black Prestige looked nicer to me - the new one would be more interesting if that design was on a metal card, but alas it isn't.
