Amex Begins Wooing Costco TE Cardholders with BCE

Two people in my household (myself included) who are Costco TE cardholders got mailers from American Express today, titled, "A Special Offer for Card Members to Carry the Blue Cash Everyday Card from American Express" with a $100 statement credit offer after spending $500 within 3 months of opening the account. The offer made no mention of the Costco cobranded card, of course, but it's a rather obvious attempt by Amex to keep as many Costco customers as they can before the transition. The $100 offer is time limited to applications by 5/31/2015.

Well, the standard offer is $100 after spending $1000 in 3 months. The OP's offer says $100 after spending $500 in 3 months. So it's slightly better.

Depends on what you are spending on. With the BCE's categories, without Costco, I'm not so sure I'd be spending $1K in 3 months. But $500, for sure. Again, that's just those categories, not if I were to use the BCE for everything - then I can cover it in a month. I think it's nice of Amex to give us that option of a smaller spend to get the bonus.

I wonder what happens ifyou have bce already like I do? I haven't got any email or snail mail offers from amex guess i will let them pc to whatever they want and just sd it.

Ahhhh and now I have it! Insta-approved for $5K; considering I was just recently CL'ed to $15K on my Costco TE, that's not bad.

I'd thought that Amex doesn't allow PCing from a cobranded card (which the Costco TE is). Either way, I'm happy. My plan is to grow the limit on the BCE, transfer some limit over from the Costco card, and let Citi take the rest for the new Costco card next year.

My plan is the opposite...see if I can get the TE to grow, move some of that to BCE and let the rest fade away. I'm likely cutting ties with Costco once AMEX is out of the picture.

Since i already have BCE, I'm not getting offers there. If AMEX would make a 3% dining card, I'd be a very happy man.

hmm, considering AMEX doesn't love me, I'm sure I will NOT get this offer in the mail. Amex has denied all of my 3x CLIs and everything else I have requested. Citi loves me again so I'm fine with the switch.

I have a TE card and got the same offer by email. It's the only time I have ever received an offer for a different card from AMEX. I am in the garden while I get mortgage, so hopefully AMEX can do something better, preferably with better dining rewards.

The offer I got and used in January was $50 for $1000 plus a year of amazon prime.
