Paying Discover Card at Sears?

Does anybody now how long it takes a payment to post if I make a payment to my Discover Card at Sears? I paid at 5:01 PM Central Time on Friday. Do you think the payment will post tomorrow or not until Monday? I went shopping yesterday and ended up with a $800.52 balance on a card with a $800 limit, so I paid $800 at Sears today. That way I can get gas once or twice before the statement closes and my utilization will stay under 10%.

As far as I know, Sears doesn't have any direct connection to Discover today. I'm not sure what you mean by making a payment at Sears.

I would think a direct payment from your checking account to Discover would be much faster (eCheck).

Check with your local Sears store to verify they accept Discover Card payments (please note payments via cash, cashier's checks and money order are not accepted at Sears stores); any sales associate can assist with your payment. When paying via check, the card is not required; however, the full account number must be written on the check. Remember to keep your receipt to confirm payment."

Never seen a T&C where cash is not a valid form of payment on an in store transaction.

I would not expect it to post today...Monday at best. Online payment probably would have been faster but that is only my guess. Or also a payment over the phone (never did this) I would expect to be faster but you will find out and know for next time. Since it looks it is not a matter of missing the due date but rather to get some more use of the 5% I guess you can take the gamble

Never had this experience as I always pay on Discover's website. I made a payment yesterday and today it was already credited on my account. I have yet to see it taken out of my bank yet.
